Bindings empty and presets grayed out

Reinstalled the game and copied my "Bindings" folder over. Now my Bindings are all empty and i cant select any presets because theyre greyed out.
When i try to set new bindings they also just straight up dont get saved, even when i press "Apply".
Can anyone help me with this?

Check the BindingsLoadingErrors.log?

And maybe state exactly which folder you nuked. It'd be bad to start recommending actions thinking you're in one place when you're actually somewhere else.

Path is C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

my loading errors log is filles with
"There where errors when loading preset file: VerisonFour.binds
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
Failed to find GUID for device: GamePad
Failed to find GUID for device: Keyboard"

this goes on for like 100 lines...

Never tried this myself, but according to Strontium Dog's 'lost your binds' thread. If you delete the Bindings folder it will recreate a default. I'd suggest you just rename it rather than delete. Then restart the game to see if a default folder is created, then see if you can at least get back to base level. If that doesn't happen, well, the original folder will still be around so you're no worse off.

Alright, I tried that and it did create a new folder!
BindingLoadingErrors.log, Custom.4.1.binds, Custom.4.1.binds.2382946207.backup, and StartPreset.4.start are in that folder.
started the game but the issue persists. Do I delete the renamed folder and try again?

Edit: Also adding: I installed Elite on my D drive and the Frontier Developments, Frontier_Developments, and Frontier_Developments_Ltd Folder are all on my C drive in Appdata. Always wondered if that causes any problems so just mentioning it :>

Look at the BindingLoadingErrors log again.

The first log extract you posted seems to suggest that the game client can't find your keyboard and gamepad.

It shouldn't matter where you install the game, AFAIK. It's certainly never caused me any bother when I install it to secondary drives.

I use an Xbox Series X Controller Wirelessly with the wireless adapter. My Keyboard and mouse are both wired and cause no problems in any other games though, same for the controller.

heres the BindingLoadingErrors log from the new folder that was craeted:
"There where errors when loading preset file: Custom.4.1.binds
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
Missing devices:
"
nothing else after missing devices

I think I'd try a verify files before anything else at this point.
I already tried that before making this post and it already didnt work then. Tried a few more times again now and its just stuck at "Preparing for update", even after waiting for a few minutes.

Did you try this? Unplug/switch off your controller. Delete/remove all keybinding files. Make sure KB & mouse are working. When you start the game, it should create KB & mouse bindings, then work from there. I'm thinking that it's seeing your controller as an unspecified wireless device rather than a controller. Can you plug a cable in to get the keybindings?

Alright, the problem fixed itself now! I let the Validating files thing do its thing for like 45mins and at some point during that time it apparently did its thing and restored the Bindings folder to how it started as

thanks for all of the help though :>

never mind glad you sorted it as long as you have a backed up bindings folder things can always be recovered
the nb method does work if you close down the game first and if your game files are initially intack
as the game cannot function without a binding folder present it will create a new default one if it is missing
