It wouldn't be at all unrealistic if Brewer Corporation were to extend the deadline due to the circumstances.
...or send in more NPC ships to assist the commanders trying to revert the lockdown.

So don't put all your eggs in the one basket? Like, seriously. I always throw in a token effort, particularly when a CG has a 100% participation reward offering, just in case of these exact situations happen (and, lo and behold, my 12 reports are getting me 10 months worth of FC upkeep and an engineered DSS).
Like, I empathise... but what's the problem here? I personally don't understand the obsession some seem to have with saving everything up to deliver in one, big hit at the end of a CG. It's just so damn risky, whether it's early CG completion, BGS effects like this, being killed by a rando pirate or plain old dumb luck resulting in death. It's a complete failure to plan for some common and very high impact scenarios, and should be a lesson learned for those that do miss out; be a bit more defensive and conservative with your contributions so you don't miss the boat. We're talking pretty common icy/rocky bodies here, the sort of thing that explorers usually ignore. There's no need to go deep out into the black to find lots of those... but hey, I say "you do you" to those people... but whether it's in-game actions or even just life getting in the way of participation in a time-bound event... I can't take the idea of people not planning any contingencies here very seriously.
Let's also not forget other context:
- An FD-initiated CG literally flipped a system in days that's been long-held by a PMF. I don't usually trade in such sentiments, but if we're spilling tears over impact to players participating in CG, what about the impact to that group of 50-odd players? What's their say in this matter? They going to be given back the system that this CG just wracked? Or are we just bullying groups who are smaller and less represented now?
- There were some warning signs... yes it skipped the intermediate Civil Unrest state, but it was pending, and the impacts visible. But there was also the war, which is a surefire way to tell when the security of a faction might tank. Then there's the crime reports.... all the info is there... something something horses, water and drinking.
- It's been two weeks. I learned too many times from school days not to try and hand in an assignment on the last day, in the event something dumb occurred and I couldn't do it. This is no different.
Again... I empathise that some of the in-game systems and mechanics aren't the most user-friendly for observing/tracking these things, but likewise, we all play the same game, and it's foolhardy to put the head in the sand and pretend these effects which are well documented and well experienced by the whole player base, simply "won't happen" because it's a CG.
Brewer Corp succeed in the CG, but the data's been stolen and ransomed by pirates. They could extend the CG - and players could keep the faction in Lockdown for another week. I almost want them to do it![]()
Transactions tab is a summary. If you go in your Transactions Tab -> Comunity Goals, there, at the very top it says: Time Left 20H 24 min.
It doesn't say anything about lockdowns or something like that.
So if your quest says that you have that amount of time, you should have it, it's as easy as that.
So... you didn't read it?Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Lesson learned for next time.Running smoothly is one thing. Completely stopping the CG is something else.
Reading is not a strong point sometimes- the Cone Sector Event is an excellent example.Again, I'll empathise that the game's UX isn't the best, but that info is there.
Additional points for deviousness if you park your FC with carto in system and advertise with "hand in exploration data here"They could extend the CG - and players could keep the faction in Lockdown for another week. I almost want them to do it![]()
Where do I hand in my scans? Nothing in Contacts or the CG sign-up screen, can't disembark, UNiCart in lockdown because of "rogue commanders"?? WTH?
I signed up but there was no mention of combat being involved. I'm in a Hauler lol. Guess I'll have to wait it out.You would sign up then hand in your data to UC aboard the megaship, but we got to do some bounty hunting to open that up for CMDR's to use!
or just go collect more scan data and hope the lockdown gets lifted before Tuesday, if not can always just hand it in as regular scan data instead thenI signed up but there was no mention of combat being involved. I'm in a Hauler lol. Guess I'll have to wait it out.
