Hello Rootsrat,

The wreckage USSs will provide you with Guardian Materials, but for Guardian Commodities, you'll need to find the convoy USSs.

I see. Thanks for the confirmation.

Hi Will,

This has been my observation as well. But I wish FDev reconsiders this as this reduces the options to either become a criminal or to do things extremely slowly. USSs spawning Guardian Commodities would be a great way for all kinds of CMDRs to participate in this CG.

I wholeheartedly support this request :)

As I've only unlocked around 2/3 of the Guardian modules/weapons I've found doing the pylon minigame somewhat more tolerable

Once the site is cleared of sentinals and I have the blueprint downloaded I do a few loops to gather up the commodities, normally receiving 12-16 per run depending on the site

Not ideal, but with new toys to come (and no obelisk glitch exploiting when that was a thing) it means my time is at least been used ~slightly~ more productivily

Now about those Tier levels ........

I am a consumer of games not a developer.
I have no intention of becoming a developer.
I have an opinion am entitled to express it.
I don't know why developers feel the need to big up the difficulty of their job, it's not that hard really if you have the skill set.
I don't understand why developers feel the need to defend each other when errors happen, and the frequency of errors seems to be increasing.
So you admit you know very little about what they're doing and dealing with? When you've got hundreds of people all tinkering in the same software, you WILL have issues.

And you're right - we're all entitled to opinions, as we all have them.

It's ok, it's hard for some people to wrap their mind around the concept of mistakes.

Did you ever consider that due to the big update that's coming next year, they're delving into and editing code that hasn't been touched before? This isn't a painting where you just paint on top of the old stuff. Maybe that's why unforseen bugs keep popping up?

There's a TON of reasons these things happen, but your dogmatic views are pretty narrow minded and kinda embarrass us commanders who are grateful for such a masterpiece of a game.

Just try to use your head AND your heart before you start judging and complaining next time.

In hardly any other field of work other than software development, will you get so many armchair specialists. As if everyone knows what to code except the developers themselves.

EDIT:
I am not saying don't report bugs or don't complain about missing features. Feedback needs to be there. But please don't target the developers themselves. See the Human.

Depends where in the world you are but in general yes.

Not having that skill set I wouldn’t know for sure but having skills and knowledge of other jobs I would say that that argument is naive at best.

Sometimes people in the same job can feel sympathy for colleagues even if they work for different companies especially if they feel those colleagues are being unjustly attacked.

You don't get it do you.

I have paid for a product and it is not unreasonable to expect it to work as advertised when it arrives.

No where else other than software development do you get so many excuses why failure to deliver as advertised is acceptable.

I beg to differ! Ever bought a ticket to a sporting event for your favorite team? They might get DESTROYED, and you get zero return on your expense. You also don't get to return to that event at any time in the future after your one purchase.

How many times have you logged onto Elite after buying it? How many thousands of things can you do in this game? And yet you insult ALL of the devs, and devs in general, because of a couple of hiccups?

Based on your attitude and lack of respect for devs, I think it's safe to say that every time they added a new feature, a new ship, new in game mechanics - you weren't here saying thank you. You only go out of your way to complain.

Hope I never turn into someone with priorities and unreason like that. 🤷‍♂️

LOL - I would take issue with "a couple" and it's a product not a chance that I purchased. I am expressing my disappointment and it

A CG with no option for delivery by large-pad ships? Kind of ridiculous.
There have been CGs with only outposts in the past for cargo... and there have even been Combat zones and bounty hunting CGs with no large pads at CG station...
just like there are cargo missions on the mission board... to outposts only...
There done on Purpuse to give Small - medium ships a chance to get to the top 10%... with out risking 40 million rebuy in open..
Cutter and T9 pilots buy a new ship or they take a week off it not new idea to tell large ship pilots to skip a week and let others finish top 10%...

I have no intention of becoming an electronic brain surgeon
Your mistake is in thinking you've bought a product when you've leased a service.
My opinion is worthless, and i don't know why i bothered bringing it up.

It's to check who can read ...
Idiotic statement and unnecessarily condescending. Even if one reads the CG (which I did) and checks the GalMap (which I did) to determine whether to particpate (which I decided not to), the decision to put the turn-in point at an Outpost limits community participation, which is one of the goals of CGs in the first place. Thus, ridiculous, as is your observation. I was there in my 'Conda before the CG started, and the many tons of Guardian articfacts I collected could not be contributed to the CG. No big loss for me but it would have helped tier progression. Too bad FDevs don't see it that way, or you either, it seems. Shortsightedness is not a virtue.

Incidentally, the megaships doing the tourists' run do have large pads and would have made fuller participation possible if made the turn-in point(s).

Lol. As I said : check who can read - just a statement of fact 🤷‍♀️

You will need a small or medium ship to participate in the Community Goal.

If you are still out there in your Anaconda full of artefacts and wish to boost the CG you just have to arrange with players flying small enough ships to collect cargo from you to hand in, this will contribute to the CG and increase community participation but not of course to your personal benefit.

CGs have never in my experience been created solely to optimise game play there has always been plot like elements which can cause problems like this.
