Not much love for the Gecko here then? It would by my next preference after the Krait, because it has a lovely distinctive planform.
A lot of people say that the small ships don't have a raison d'etre any more. We were discussing running costs yesterday on a bit of a tangent, and I think that this is where the value of the smaller combat craft should lie. Repair costs for the big ships should be high enough that bounties and mission rewards should barely cover the cost of repairing combat damage, whereas the smaller ships should be affordable little runners. This would make operating big combat craft the preserve of navies, Powers and authorities, because they need to project power even if doing so doesn't break even in combat.
In saying that, I am not asserting that these ships should be taken out of the hands of players, just that to repair them, players will have to dig deep, or go to stations where they have good reputation, get repairs from a Combat Bond issuer after CZ work, or at one of their Power's control systems.
This would give the game more reasons to run a wider range of ships, since using the most powerful combat craft will require other gameplay choices.
