you are all bonkers. Aldi village bakery bloomers are the same price as that mass produced stuff and is loads better quality
Heed this mans advice, and with the savings on your bread bill, buy FDEV stock, which in keeping with this thread, must be DOOMED as it took another tumble today, losing ~10% as if fell from 1320p to 1202p in trading today.

unfortunately that is par for the course at the moment what with world events. my crypto assets took an utter pounding.

Making ED an MMO was calculated to please investors rather than players, as evidenced by the huge number of solo players and lack of players in open.

So, they made a game nobody wanted because it fit a trendy business plan. Now, they're reaping the consequences of that.
I think you are speaking for yourself and not as a representative of the community..

Witness the success (failure) of DW/DG, Gnosis, the legendary Salome run, etc, etc..

Yeah, I play Elite in spite of the fact that it's an mmo, certainly not because of it.
And, I resent putting up with all the grindy nonsense just to access the parts I do like--all related to combat.

It's a big reason why so many long-time players turned on the game when ED: O launched with poor performance and an emphasis on more grinding and gameplay nobody asked for.

The best things they've done for this game in years was buffing credits for combat. Nerfing the engineering grind and fixing performance would win me and many others back.
*Checks thread title.
No not Hotel California...
The soloists seem to be PVEers in the Bubble, with some powerplayers and BGS types. Though no reliable figures one way or the other.
The people complaining about lack of cmdrs in open seem to be the type most likely to be blocked, as such they might not have the clearest view.

Sure, but I'm not talking about group/multiplayer activity.

I'm talking about all the low-effort, grindy, time consuming for-the-sake-of-time-consumption content the game is build around. You know, that mmo stuff.

Stuff like trying to turn fleet carrier maintenance into a second job... That really burns up good will. At least it did with me. And then they did the same thing with Odyssey. That's why so many people flipped their and left/turned on the game.

I just want to login and blast some bad guys after a busy day. I don't need or want a second life with a job.

If I could find a game with a better combat/flight model and less grind, I'd be playing that game. Until then, I'm stuck in my love/hate relationship with Elite.

I only came to the forum to see when the next update is due. If they actually nerf ship engineering grind as good as they buffed combat pay last year, I'll be pretty happy.

Until then, I'm just doing this...

I suppose that if you only want to log in a few hours and blast bad guys, then go to a RES or a CZ and do just that, and do it in solo if you don't want to deal with PvP..

And I don't know if you really have to grind either, you don't need a FC, you can pick up manufactured after combat (bring some limpets), take a trip out to gather the raws from the trees. Encoded I'm not sure about, if normal scanning doesn't bring enough then Jameson's crash site isn't too bad (still it sucks to do the relogski)...

Ok, you might need to grind rank for a few ships, but you can also just advance turning in combat bonds, one day you'll get the Corvette.. I could have had one for a long time, but still haven't bought one, want to leave a small present for myself for some rainy day.. ;)

We're all waiting with bated breaths for new communications! Some are vocal about what they think, hope, fear, want, etc. So to sum it up, both game and forum are as they mostly are.. :D

The forums are generally split into two camps when it comes to progression in the games development. You have the camp that wants new and better things and the camp that wants the game to progress but stay exactly the same as it's been because they are afraid of change.
Only two? That is moopoo, old chap...

You have the ones who want everything changed
The ones who want nothing changed
The ones who want some bits changed
The one who wants it changed to their idea of what the game should be and continually argues that everyone else is wrong...
The ones who thought the game was something else
The ones who hoped the game would be something it isn't
The ones who hoped...

And, of course, the mock communists....
