Brookfield Zoo

So, some opinions needed.

I think I know which way I'm leaning, but would like some feedback.

Monorail or Gondola?

I built this originally with the gondola, but also now created a version with the monorail.
I'm at the point where I need to decided, one or the other before I move forward with this zoo.

Here's some points to ponder...

1. the master plan of the zoo that I'm using for inspiration had a chairlift/gondola like ride in the plan
2. both rides look awesome in the game as far as I'm concerned
3. I am a bit not satisfied with the huge 'eye-sore' type supports for the gondola
4. the monorail does have more flexibility as far as turns and elevation changes

Which do you think looks better? Here some comparison shots.

Your Zoo looks great!

Nice buildings and scenery.

As for the monorail/gondola, not sure if you made a decision already.
I'm not a big fan of the rides in the game, so I can't say as I never used them besides the safari truck and boat ride.
But the building looks incredible.

I already switched to the monorail ride. Seemed more realistic and looked better as it was not so large.

OK - moving back to the North Plaza area. Adding a Carousal to the plaza. this is in the master plan and actually has been park of the zoo in real life for may years now.In game I got the faux ride from the workshop, but will build a custom house/cover for it as close to the real zoo ride that currently exists.

Nice. Hopefully we'll get actual carousels in the game

So, here is what we have done so far...comparing it to the master plan and indicating where I made creative revisions to the master plan.

- The red lines are the zoo entrance and ticket turn styles. this is pretty much to plan and how the real zoo is laid out today.
- The green area on the left is the Australia area...pretty much a perfect replication of the master plan.
- The gold circled area is the featured exhibit (with water). This is where I added the otter exhibit.
- I will add a seasonal ice rink next to this area in the winter shots later on.
- Gray circle in the middle is the carousel. Pretty much to plan and also there in real life right now.
- The light blue area in the lower left is the monorail station (I switched from the sky ride), and under the station are some shops and special exhibits. One chnage I made here was to move the train station from the right of the central path over to the left of the central path, right next to the monorail station. this way the transportation buildings are all grouped together a bit better. It was also due to space in how I laid out the paths.
- I nixed the second featured exhibit on the right of the plaza due to space limitations.
- The restaurant (red box), and Discovery Center (pink box) are pretty much in the map per the master plan.
- The purple box area is back stage buildings and that's how/where they actually reside in the real zoo currently, just not as elaborate as I set them up.
- the yellow box, butterfly house, is present, but I moved it from the central area of the plaza over to take up part of the picnic area on the plan. This was due to spacing and also trouble with the pathing system to get it to work like the master plan.
- Where the train station was in the master plan, I added a smaller (faux) tram station, where guests can load/unload from a zoo tram experience.
