Can sloths be in Planet Zoo?

Of course they can. If Frontier decided they wanted to make Sloths in game, they would find a way, as always. We thought that they would not find a way to animals diving, we though they would not make Koalas for same reasons, we thought Gibbons will probably not come and that meerkats wont dig. Frontier always found a way to introduce all of these, sometimes not what we have imagined it would be like, but always a solution that work within game limitations.

My only wish is they would choose the cuter And far more common Two-toed Sloth.

The koala is a bit of a total mess so...

Can sloths be in the game? Yes, absolutely.

Should they be? That's another question entirely.

My koalas virtually never climb, when they should be spending the vast majority of their time just sitting in a tree not doing much of anything. If we got sloths behaving like that, they'd be pretty much unusable.

I get this idea, but then wouldn't the koala be pretty much unusable too? And the same goes for the gibbon.

While I think these animals should be improved regarding how often they portray each behaviour, it seems like a sloth can definitely be implemented, especially now that we have the new climbing frames, which I assume will be used for more animal-specific behaviours than just branchiation.

I think the dufference in that Koalas and Siamangs are supposed to spend most pf their time on trees, but they are capable of terrestrial movement and sometimes move on the ground.

Sloths spend 99% of their time climbing, are extremely slow, and are nearly helpless on the ground. So in the game that means sloths would be extremely unrealistic unless they are exhibit animals.

The koala almost is unusable because of this. The first time I used them I didn't have any issue - they climbed a lot. They still came down too often, but they spent most of their time climbing. Something changed, probably related to the gradually worsening climbing system, and now they don't climb at all really. My siamangs barely touch the ground so I'm not sure what you mean there (they only seem to come down in their shelter or to eat).

Could always just make them a non-moving prop. ;)

Otherwise - I don't get why they just don't vastly increase the 'climb %' of several of the animals in the zoo (the koala has been mentioned at length) and provide an enrichment item that gives food/water arboreally (ie; make the eucalyptus feeder actually work - I've never seen a koala use it). I mean, maybe the climbing system is borked and they haven't been able/don't care to fix it? I know modders seem to tweak the behaviors so fish spend 99% of their time in water (unlike the base animals they come from), so it must be possible to change the climb perdentages.

The actuality of the situation is that the Koala rig worked surprisingly well for a modded sloth. The movements are pretty much all there, not to mention it actually helps that they gave the Koala swimming animations for some reason haha. I'm fairly confident in the fact that we can see a sloth in a DLC sometime in the future, hopefully before support ends. They're an extremely important and iconic zoo species as of late, and I think it would be doing a disservice to not include them.

I hope so. It would a pretty unique addition, but of course the rig will have to be modified and some new animations added. But i also want a sloth.

That's a nice idea.

They will take 10 ingame years to climb any climbable structure. Maybe they could get a dedicated enrichment like the Koala, and just stay there for 99% of their lifespan.
That sounds perfect! They would come down only to mate, drink, and have offspring!

I' m sure they can and they will do It. I ' m not sure if It's a good idea to make sloths with faster movements. PZ designers try always yo make the models and animations as realistic as they can. A speedy sloth may be quite weird. I like sloths because of its slow way of life.
