Can you tell us if Smear Campaigns are in game yet? Anyone find one with the update?

Plus, I simply can't live without sprint, so if I have a QF suit for minor settlement-side lounging, it has to have sprint on it as well, at least for me. And unless I find one with it pre-built in, I can't muster the enthusiasm to go farm mats just to make a lounge suit :)
Lol - you'll hate me for the Artemis I found yesterday then :)

(Still haven't found a Quieter Mav, but it lets me work out if I care)

I am interested more in Audio Masking. I have g2 mav with QS .... which made me reconsider my initial build, maybe I will just add battery capacity to extend my "patience" time while sneaking around.

I'm still looking forward to getting both of Yarden's exclusives. I have less of a "need" for them (and neither have ever truly been necessary for me, much like most mods) and it's likely more efficient for me to just face-pwn scavengers and crouch works pretty effectively for stealth but I'm looking forward to using these two mods to "do it another way".

But I do get the sentiment. After all, it's not like I can say "here's a guide for killing scavengers using stealth but you need to blast through a ton of content first to unlock these two mods". So you're right.

AM is much more useful indeed, and I think imp battery is a very good mod. Sure you can find spare batts everywhere, but I prefer never running out of power even while cutting 3 doors and overloading them, all while having my shields and Nightvision on at the same time.

The testimonies here about Quieter Footsteps make is sound more and more underwhelming. I might rethink that one for the final Mav slot. Wouldn't mind audio masking though, if only to make the Tormentor fully silent, for when I don't feel like waiting for a guard to move away.

And audio masked L-6 looks absolutely meme-tastic. That's a winner if I've ever seen one.

I've got it on a dominator (no other mods, just bought it to test) and so not really suitable for "live demonstration" purposes. But I have a feeling it'll be quite useful in some situations on heists and sabotages where you're navigating restricted areas.

But the shorter range where NPCs will hear your footsteps isn't easy to gauge. I just think it should be "the same as crouch" (silent). It wouldn't break the game in any way and would just make the use of this mod simpler. As it is, one has no way of knowing the difference until tested out and then there's no simple way to measure that going forward, short of constantly looking at the radar. It's too risky, therefore, to use in many cases where it would have a positive impact.

I'd say "for professional use only" which is a bit restrictive. Even if I can master it, I can't say it's going to be worth promoting as a method worth investing practice in when crouch does the trick and is only marginally slower than jogging.

You know what's meme-tastic? A pair of L-6s with Stowed reload, faster reload, faster handling, magazine size, used with a Dom suit with extra ammo and improved jump assist, on a low-G planet, in a high CZ

That's Ironman/warmachine shizz right there.

I have almost completed this exact build already and plan a video on it once I do as I agree, THIS is THE BUILD if you just want to destroy everything. Stand near an ammo crate and you're unstoppable - I'd also add extra ammo to the Dominator too.

Oh, and so - anyone find any Smear Campaigns yet???

I already have Audio Masking and magazine size on my G5 L6, will definitely add stowed reloading and faster handling.
Then i might do another one just for the lulz.

Don't mean to steal your thunder or anything, but been there, done that ;)

Made this vid about two and a half weeks ago, and then proceeded to use this build to grind up to merc elite

I love your vids btw and I think you'll do a way more fantastic job than me. If you want any footage let me know, I spent a fair amount of time looking for the best 0.06G planet with a high intensity CZ to do this.

Edit: Just to add, I added improved sprint shortly after because I found that using L-6s significantly encumber you and slow you down if you need to move about the map (there aren't many small maps where all the drop points are within range of a single reload/recharge point, and you will eventually find yourself having to reposition from time to time and running out of stamina). This significantly improved the kill count performance :)

I'd slap on stowed and off I go :D

I use IS myself because it's great for combat but remember you can just stow your weapon for fastest run speed if you're just getting from A to B.

I know I'm going a little off topic here, but did anyone find a single Smear Campaign?
Nope, been following every thread and discord chat on it and I've not even smelled the lingering BO of someone who claimed they did.

There was someone here a page or two back who claimed to have d/l an SCP or two (I think) prior to the patch that allegedly broke them. He was asked to provide an EDDEng screenshot of the log entry (since ED Engineer app will extract all relevant info about time/place/cond of every logged event in the game) but we got no sound no picture from the guy since (unless he PM'd exigeous)

Honestly if he had posted his log entry I would have dropped everything and headed back immediately to start test grinding dataports with the exact conditions in the log. Right now out in the black doing reckless things on planetary surfaces to level my exobiology

Edit: tbh I think many of even the most hardcore grinders have resigned themselves that SCPs are broken, and it will be 'adjusted' in patch 5 next week, I gave up wasting my time a few days back already.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read all thread, so I'm going to ask. Did anybody check mission boards on settlements? Can SC be there?

Are those fixed yet? Last time I tried a mission from a settlement board, you couldn't hand in the competed mission to the settlement you took it from.

I did plenty missions from settlements without issue. So unsure if this was "fixed" or whether it's just the same common issues there have been with handing in (that I've not had for a long time either).

SCs definitely aren't on offer as rewards. The missions you see at settlements are functionally exactly the same as those in the concourse, they just offer missions from one faction instead of the whole system's factions.

Nice, yeah I knew I wouldn't be "first" with anything Odyssey related as my goal with my channel has never been to be first but to be best so I wanted to take the time to really, fully understand everything before I go popping my mouth off about what is best. That said from day one I've been eyeing this build as it's pretty insane isn't it??

Back to farming I go....

It is insane, the only criticism I have of it is how reliant it is on low G planets to work really well... but even that is not really that bad since you can just point blank people (not too close to the point you eat your own splash damage of course). Also I found that the mods I listed for the L-6s are pretty much mandatory for this build. e.g. fast reload is quite necessary because otherwise it takes too long for stowed reload to complete the reload cycle, and if you pull the weapon out again before the reload cycle completes while stowed, you get an empty weapon that needs to restart the reload cycle, so now you have TWO empty guns.
