Canyon Racers, do not despair

^^ Flight assist off video, please.
pffff...
As I mentioned I never did any canyon racing.
It was a first take "I will desperately try not to crash" video, and I almost failed even that...
18m at 400m/s is not a large safety margin in my books.
It only takes 0,04s to travel 18m at that speed :)

Some people here (not you) said that crazy mountains or canyon will not make sense for on-foot gameplay.
It's absurd, I have been already driving SRV / running (trying to actually) on hills/mountains steep enough to make both impossible in EDO.
So it does generate terrain that "makes no sense" for on-foot gameplay.

I'd say practice makes that a lot easier, but unless there's some changes in EDO (or you just fly in Horizons), you probably won't be able to given the absence of terrain that'll challenge you.

Have you noticed that your cargo scoop broken, it keeps deploying and retracting.
It's not safe to fly like this, you should really fix it before something bad happens.

;)
Haha. Believe me, not using it is far more dangerous in a 900m/s viper3 ;)

Sure, "discovering" that deploying CS while boosting prevents further accelerating allowed me to finally be able to CATCH someone to kill with short range weapons instead of making a series of never ending pathetic flybys ;)

Fitting punishment for being too slow

Some people here had the theory that bases are exactly the problem between Horizons and EDO.
That somehow bases would be flying in the air, or spawn underground with the Horizon tech. Don't know but that is possible.

Just for the sake of argument, let's assume that this is true. The easy solution for this would be to simply limit the randomly generated terrain to uninhabited planets/moons.

EDIT: Alternatively, spawn tiles where the bases/settlements are and use proc gen for the rest of the terrain. Though this is undoubtedly less simple.

Dude, that's some mad skills there... also what was the deal with that beluga? Was it an NPC ship or some player that went afk?

Ahh..when the terrain gets that gnarly, the NPCs freak out and will often bump into things, sometimes fatally :D
You can even convince them to do so by flying really close to em so they boost away from you in the opposite direction.
It used to be quite a fun mini-game!

lmao... so you're playing Elite: Dangerous Wipeout Edition.

Edit: I might have the name wrong... whatever that racing game series was called, where you could psych out other racers into crashing.
