Capybara

The maned wolf seems to be the most-requested South American animal after the capybara. Otherwise, a "complete" roster of South American mammals would look something like:

Maned wolf (already mentioned)
Spectacled bear
Coatimundi (any species)
Ocelot
Two or three more New World monkeys
Two-toed sloth (if Frontier can figure out almost-entirely arboreal animals; if so, maybe add the tamandua and prehensile-tailed porcupine to this list)
Patagonian mara

Not sure how likely each of these are.
Also a wild camelid (guanaco/vicuña), an armadillo, and a Rhea.

Two or three more New World monkeys
Hopefully 3🙃 You can never have enough Primates and I really want a Species of Spider Monkey in the Game.

I hope if we'll get a Capybara, it would come with a Hot Spring Enrichment. Would love to have a small mountainous Area in Hokkaido Zoo with lots of Hot Springs which has Enclosures with Japanese Macaques and Capybaras.
Is there any other Species that likes to use Hot Springs? I'm only aware of these 2

Considering their popularity in zoos and that they're the single most requested animal to be added, I think it's inevitable that they will be put in the game at some point. Maybe in a Tropical Animal Pack or something like that.

yeah I'm worried about some of my most wanted animals, but not the Capybara. I definitely want them in the game, badly, and do strongly believe they'll make it in. The question is...when? if the next pack is not Avian related I'm really hoping it's some kind of theme they can be fit into.

Is there any zoo which has an underwater viewing are for capybaras?
I’m fairly sure I’ve seen a picture of one in Japan which is a mixed species enclosure with toucans I think, maybe more. It’s like an aviary with a tank on one side.

Also maybe CosmoCaixa in Barcelona?

Reid Park Zoo in Arizona used to have underwater viewing for capybaras. To my knowledge, they have now been moved out of that exhibit and replaced with tapirs:

As markun mentioned above, CosmoCaixa in Barcelona has an underwater viewing area in their very impressive indoor rainforest; this video here shows them using it:

Apparently, as well as freshwater fish, the capybara share this space with free-flying birds, turtles and (more surprisingly) dwarf caimans.

Look at all that. Capybara is chill with Alligator (or is that a caiman.? ) So chill and mellow the mood carries over to Capybara's company. Capybara is completely chilled and relaxed with ducks and monkeys climbing all over them. Turtles are chilled out by the Capybara's mellowness that they're not even worried they'll roll over and get squished. Everyone looks relaxed. Capybara would be perfectly mellow and cool with Planet Zoo. Planet Zoo players could benefit from the mellowness as well, if we're inclined.

See the capybara. Be the capybara. Be kind and happy with wherever you are. And when they come, they darn well better not get stressed out easily. Because...they don't.
