Capybara

The brown mammals can often be spotted with birds hitching a lift on their backs
Images of the furry creature interacting with just about every other animal you can imagine - in this case a baby goat - have been doing the internet rounds of late, and it's easy to see why

The capybara is quite closely related to the guinea pea, and this one seems to blend right in

Capybaras are excellent swimmers and can remain submerged for up to five minutes
They must have access to a sizeable pool, grass to graze on and friends to keep them company
They can even sleep floating in the water, so long as they poke their noses above the surface
Monkeys seem to have a particular fondness for using these animals as an armchair
They typically live in groups of between ten and 20 individuals, but have been known to flock together in far greater numbers
In short, it's a wonder Disney hasn't yet cast this delightful creature as the star of an animated film. Perhaps one day it will

Encanto opened at #1 on the US box office this past weekend, should give a boost to Capybara prominence and popularity - to the general public, they're already pretty popular here.

Let's set the countdown clock to the next DLC! What are the odds they're probably going with a theme that will include Capybaras? Short of Fully Marine or Avian animals, I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

I highly doubt we'd get any kind of free animal for Christmas. But I'll say it again, for the next pack if it's not some kind of Avian or Marine pack, it would make no real sense for Frontier to not do a theme that includes Capybaras. The logic is there, yes, they can headline a pack and should be left for a pack to sell the pack. But why put it off longer and longer? If it's going to be used to sell a pack, it would make sense to just go ahead and do it. That's why I feel very strongly the next pack will be something they'll fit into.

I'd like to, and as many of my nexusmod pets, Frontier could bring at least some of them to the official franchise trade. For example, verified and in agreement with the creator of the mod.

Something that would be great could be them picking 3-5 of them every month and have people vote for the best of them that isn't, and include it with a credit to the modder. You might need a couple minutes to rearrange the files as a thing, but it would be a constant stream of new animals with very little effort on frontiers part.

Won't happen, for many reasons, the most important one of which is that Frontier doesn't support modding in any official capacity, but also that none of the modded animals have unique animations or sounds applied to them.

So what, btw. many mods animals have their own sounds, as for the animations, I don't know, maybe they are copied from other models, but so what. Even if, after all, Frontier could make it clear info that it is UNOFFICIAL mod that has no support. Insert info with the warning that when installing unofficial modifications, players do so at their own risk. Frontier will can would be enough to add an animal to the franchise list, and that would be the end of his work. Look, how much it would change and how it would enrich the game and strengthen its community and thus popularity. The game could be supported and enriched with unique DLC additions (people still will buy it) for some time and go ahead. A great example is City Skylines and its community, and new DLCs have been coming out for 7 years and they have been selling. Look on statistic players online in game on steam. This is the effect of a wide community and openness to cooperation with the player. I made it today at 9 pm GMT+1. Remember also that City Skylnes has been 7 years.
