[CCN] The Christmas Carriers Convoy

Signed up as Carrier with my than brand new Belluga.
It will carry Beam-turrets and a fighterbay. But is IS a Passanger-Carrier.

Will you set up an Expedition on EDSM.NET to Join?

Will do!

Perhaps a silly question, but what is the average jump range we are expecting for this expedition? Between fully loaded haulers and combat capable craft, I'm not expecting the average jump range to be much higher than the mid-20s. I'm fiddling around with my Battle-Conda right now, and my preliminary set-ups are getting me just under 25 Ly.

IT's a good estimate. Fully loaded engineered Beluga is around 26ly.

Yea. Maybe when module storage appears I'll try a few different set-ups, but right now its my engineered mods that are really weighing down my jump range. At the same time, those engineer mods are what makes my Battle-Conda worth bringing as an escort.

As long as you take the additional time ect.. into account, you should be fine.

Preparations for the Christmas Convoy have begun aboard the Heavy Escort "When Daylight Dies," starting with a sexy new militia-green paint job.

(picture not in HD, because Open doesn't allow pretty screen shots :( )

Random side note: Have the systems that will contain the new outposts between the Bubble and Colonia been announced yet? I want to begin planning my route, but I cannot find that information anywhere.

I would be extremely interested if there would be passenger missions which have 30 days time to trave to Jaques, but we can only wait and see until 2.2 goes live.
Afaik the longest time we have seen in the beta is 3 weeks or so...

CMDR Ornas Diehl joining in as a Carrier, with my brand new Trucker the DST Far Sight Lost ! Ready to bring the finest goods from the Bubble up to Jaques :D

Frontier has been contacted about that. Like, if we could have a CG or something. We'll see :)

Thats good news. Lets hope for the best. :)

Another thing which caught my eye..

So what does the colony need now?

It needs people. People like you. People willing to leave the Bubble behind, move out to Colonia and become part of this unique experience. An experience that hasn't occurred since 2150 AD when humanity's first colony away from Sol was established on Tau Ceti 3.

Really?
I cant do that. Im already on my VERY slowboat way to Jaques with my 2nd cmdr doing the Outlander Challenge and he is going to stay there indefinitely, but my main cmdr cant stay as he has much to do in the bubble also in the future. ;)
But i recon thats not a prerequisite of any kind?

The way I look at it is a way to escape all the politics of a old bubble and start a new new working for humanity to create something new and not seen before.

All it takes is one small step or in this case one small jump to start out on a new journey and you never know what you will find or experience along the way.

The journey is the important part, embrace it and join us out in Colonia and see where your journey takes you.

How to change roles once signed up?

Cmdr Name: Pnyx
Ship: Imperial Cutter
Role: Freelancer

Want to change role to Carrier

Thanks

So, I'm a rookie explorer, but a decent trader- is there a minimum jump range for this sort of thing? Or is it just try to make it in the time allotted? Also, when will we know when and where to fly in Open? Is that for media events? Or a requirement the whole trip?

It would be awesome if they supported it. Hell, I would probably pick up a passenger mission or two in my militia escort Battle-Conda if they supported this event with long-term passenger missions.

I am estimating the average jump range for vessels going on this expedition to be around 25 Ly, maybe a bit lower. However, there is no "requirement," and you are free to travel in whatever ship you want, with whatever jumprange it has.

I will say, the more range you have, the easier the trek will be.

I did fly a loaded Type-9 to Jaques, with a 14.5LY range. Not doing that again :p

You'll have a much more pleasant trip with 20+LY range, make good use of some engineers to help.
