Since a lot of people apparently just received the Newsletter, Registrations are extended to TOMORROW NOV. 30th, 20:00 IGT.
I signed up, though I'll be using my Xbox account, is there anybody else doing this on Xbox?
I know from this thread that 20-25ly is a comfortable jump range for the journey. But I'm now wondering about jump endurance. Is it a good idea to shoot for a minimum range between refuels in case of regions of non-scoopables, or is the path rich enough in KGBFOAM that it's fine to carry just the core fuel tank?
I don't want to end up with some poor Stratotanker having to use half their limpets on my gas guzzler for want of an axillary tank that I would only have to give up 5-10% of my cargo capacity for.
I've flown out and back twice so far, once with a Federal Corvette (14.5 ly per jump) and once with an Asp (42.5 ly per jump). The Corvette had a second tank half the size of the main tank, and it needed it to get through brown dwarf fields. The Asp had an auxiliary tank but it was not at all necessary.
I just flew my Cutter build out to California Nebula for a test run with an aux tank (again, 1/2 the size of the main tank) and an 8A fuel scoop. This build is 33.77 ly with no cargo and 27.81 ly with 320 tons of cargo. Near the bubble the aux tank is unneeded, but I'm not convinced that it won't be handy halfway to Jacques.
Me? I like the extra fuel tank, even if it's just for convenience during exploration side trips through neutron fields.

Are there any min/max requirements for the militia escourts?
I read something about them carrying manifest scanners.

Another short question: does DEPARTURE TIME actually mean departure time or "arrival at rally point"?
P.S.: I finally found my registration link. My browser shows those links as broken photo links. Thank you Chrome!

After checking up on the launch event plans last night I saw that us Freelancers are not welcome at the party.
Really not impressed by that at all and see no reason for it either. We signed up in good faith just like all the other pilots and now we are just shunted aside and only get to watch? Kind of makes registering for the convoy a bit pointless and I could of set off weeks ago but I was under the impression we would all be setting of together and that this would be a good social event. I have sent out tweets, posted links to this CCN and tried to point CMDR's who were interested in going to Colonia towards this thread, what an utter waste of my time that turned out to be. After reading that we are not wanted or welcome at the event - it even comes across as a threat if we enter the instance, I figured why wait any longer, the ships ready, I'm ready and so I've left already.
Maybe I'll see some of you on the way over the next few weeks.
Fly Safe! o7
A pity really, i understand your point of view as a freelancer myself (my first great expedition so far). Hope to see you in the void Commandero7

I'm sure you will good sir. I suppose with so many CMDR's there is a lot to co-ordinate but it would of been nice to have even a little something for us BUT - yes there can always be a but... Whats to stop us from organising a Freelancers Party along the way?
Going to have a look at where we are during Christmas and see if there's somewhere really interesting for us to have a party and to show how nice we are EVERYONE can come!![]()
