You mean its about the Alliance dont you?

Mahon apparently over the weekend regained support and is now on track to win, so thats PP the same for next 6 years, still no obvious lead for this weeks CG though unless the Thargs push again.

Just a peeing contest on galnet so far for todays news nothing realy of importance..

community pic states no CG again this week moving on....

I've been worried we'd get a rigged election CG, but by the sounds of it, it might be we can't even take part incase we upset the narrative. So much for 'blaze your own trail'.......

It doesn't look like the AXCZs will last a full two weeks either, though there'll be some left on Thursday. Easy enough for them to add a few more of those, of course, and makes sense to keep the Odyssey release week relatively clear of anything too time-sensitive.

So then what on the 27th? There's a bunch of threads set up
- Imp/Fed tensions increasing
- Alliance internal conflicts (which the election won't resolve)
- ACT still hasn't come back on the NMLA/Hadrian case
- Federal surveillance and descent into totalitarianism
- Thargoids attacking
...but nothing much which suggests what the next CG might be.

Wild guess: following increased Thargoid activity around the Alliance presences in the nebulae on the 20th, there's a full-scale Thargoid attack on Alioth on the morning of the 27th, preventing the election from being held. Mahon declares a state of emergency; AX CG to clear the system.

But will anyone notice that the Thargoid ships doing the attack are fakes?

"Salvation" weighing in on AEGIS is interesting though. I'm thinking the Thargoid problem will get steadily worse for a while.

Hold up: Tensions in human space start boiling over, and then the 'Goids show up just in time for humanity to set aside their differences and turn against them. Something seems incredibly fishy here......

Looks like Thursday is focussed on the EDO Livestream Launch and no distractions wanted.

- ACT still hasn't come back on the NMLA/Hadrian case

They are taking their sweet time about it. Im now expecting something major as a result. A massive outcry after they do / dont point the finger at Hadrian and name several other people in the Alliance & Federation as well so it kicks off all over. Although it could be something like 'they have escaped to ground base XYZ go and shoot it up'.

Meh, I actually want players to be less of a deciding factor so we can have a somewhat sensible story. CMDRs are demigods and make an absolute farce out of the lore.

Let's say the Federation and Empire have had enough with this upstart and attack Alioth. If they win this combat CG, the Alliance will be permanently removed from the game. And participants will receive a +100ly jump range FSD for good measure. Sounds awful.

Though in this case at present the election result and plot is pretty reflective of aggregate player activity, in a much more proportionate way than "who showed up this week".

The issues separating Kaine and Mahon are tied into the substantial BGS expansion of the Alliance and Powerplay expansion of Mahon over the last six years, neither of which had to happen.

The decay of AEGIS and the consequences for the Thargoids becoming mostly "an Alliance problem" are in part due to what happened in Witch Head BGS after the Enclave storyline.

Corporate systems make up 580/1123 (51.6%) of the Alliance, which fits well with Mahon's narrow lead. (Obviously not as simple as Corporates for Mahon and others for Kaine, but it's a decent first approximation of their support bases)

Sure, it's not a "haul Beer for the Alliance rallies" competitive CG, but not everything has to be done that way.

I have no problem with players "indirectly" influencing the story, meaning that Frontier keeps an eye on player actions takes them into consideration where appropriate.

"Direct" control with specific outcomes/consequences (i.e. CGs) is what I don't like.
