CG predictions...

Times like this I wish I had data from a previous Trade/BH CG pair. Trade seems off and running, BH is slow, probably due to the lack of Haz Res - while Installations are fun they are not efficient - maybe we'll see fdev add Haz Res today.

Last week the CG got 8% on the first day - this week (with a few hours left in that first day) we are well behind that (and last week had an exceptional end).

Peak hour was 21:00 UTC, looks like our US buddies were busy elsewhere:

Looks like it's gonna be another tough week for the Marlinists - maybe T3 on trade 🤔 (Too early to tell really)

While I was dropping off Fruit & Veg the System Chat had a lot of players asking about BH'ing, followed by some unhappy comments due to the lack of Res sites...
The other thing that will slow down the contributions CG is both the distance from the star (8 mins SC time) and the FC's that are resident rather than delivering and moving away.
(of course, the gank crews are in system with their FC's too :ROFLMAO:)

Of course they are, if I were a ganker I would try to block as many spots as possible with my carriers to force people to supercruise.

What is the question, though?
How carriers will balance out versus individual ships. Frontier is play-testing it.

If the carrier was pre-stocked, like mine, it could stay as long as it had cargo to move. I filled mine, and found the system jammed with carriers. I had to move two systems over.

Individual ships, coming from outsystem, still have to run a gauntlet of interdiction, for a fair distance. The carriers in system will be using their own ships, or getting others to move the load by various means. Only the carriers close to the CG port will be able to ignore most of that travel risk.

I'm getting customers for my cargo, and still making a small profit. I contributed, and don't need the CG cash. I'm just supporting small traders, by having CG items available at one stop. The prices are way below what the CG station is paying, and below galactic average as well. A trader could fill a small ship with one stop, then jump to the CG system direct. Can traders get it cheaper elsewhere? You bet! Can they find all the items in a reasonable period of time without a carrier? Look at the current progress.

All my cargo will be saleable, after the CG, at a profit, somewhere. The carrier gave me the opportunity to stock up in a large system, with lots of supply, large pads, and very cheap pricing compared to the CG. Also, below galactic average. It's also over a hundred light years away from the CG.

Fc: benefits for owners, detriments for nearly everyone else.
Not really.

I loaded up my carrier with F&V and luckily found a spot 5Ls away from Fox. I sold my cargo at 1000cr/t - a healthy profit on the 200 I paid, right enough - but the convenience of the short hop meant that I sold it all pretty quick and local traders still made roughly 1000cr/t for a LOT less time and work.

You may say that I should have sold for cheaper, but I jumped to a cheap supply station, to the CG system and then away. That's 300k + (let's say) 150t Tritium - which at full market rates is 40kcr/t, so 6.3mcr.

I made 800cr/t profit on 7000t of cargo, so 5.6m.

Overall that's a potential 700k LOSS so hardly a massive benefit for me.
