CG predictions...

Imagine the saltvalanche! 😂

Progress is looking like a T3/T4 for trade (which has the more interesting implications this week) - the jump is the change in target fdev made yesterday:

With less than 3 days to go we'd need an average around 1%/Hr to complete, and are nowhere near (though the same was true of the AX one last week)

I guess we get at least a couple of systems with some kind of bad outcome:
Local authorities have warned that without additional support, these refugees may trigger public unrest or food shortages. There is also a risk of unfamiliar contagions reaching the population.

So will this be negative BGS states in the systems that need addressing via BGS actions, or negative states that use handwavium to get fixed by CGs, or just Galnet flavour, or something else? 🤔 Could even be the introduction of a new BGS state - we had them introduced as part of the Interstellar Initiatives last year, so it's not impossible (though we do seem to already have a plethora of under-implemented states, not sure we need yet another with no associated missions etc).

It certainly sounds like Civil Unrest / Famine / Outbreak states.

(The one player faction is in the system which gets supplied at Tier 2, so probably just NPCs getting them)

Well, unless I read things wrong I guess it's safe to say by now that we'll see civil unrest, famine and/or outbreaks in at least 3 systems. Guess that'll mean that those Marlinists might get thrown out of system with noone wanting them (due to the chaos they caused) except the Empire?

Hmm, hadn't spotted that this CG is back to finishing on Thursday, so still (nearly) 3 days to go.

I changed the X-axis to be 24 hours, so we've nearly done 4 days and just over 40% (Trade), completion still looks unlikely - T4 will be pushing it. But we may get a competion push at the end.

The hourly contributions are holding up. The Combat one is actually doing better as the week goes on, presumably as people work out where to get kills as the CG is a bit non-standard in having no HazRes. I guess there is less organisation on the Trade side, despite more people realising that shuttle FCs work pretty well for this station.

I have a FC packed to the gills with F&V, but have been unable to get a spot in system for over 24h now. I'll have to resort to parking 1 system over and shuttling it over myself rather than parking near the station and letting local haulers get the benefits.

Organising bulk traders to reserve spots and co-ordinate jumps (as much as possible) may be necessary if we have to do something similar in the future.

I still think the space between stations should be used as parking space and not just around the planetary bodies
in the trade CG there is 48k ly of space, why not open up slots up to 2k ly from the station? hell even 5k ?

Yeah, it really needs organising - a pair of players will end up going to sleep etc, but a bigger org can stay active. Operation Ida have a good system for repairs where loading / unloading operations coordinate, but I don't think they're bothering with the CGs.

You could also then get the fdev increasing the targets to keep them competitive - might not be ideal for CGs going forward.

Yeah - I'd be fine with people leaving it overnight as long as the org has a few "reserved". I mean, RL happens. Hopefully that spot could be swapped out within 10-12 hours anyway. If you have 4-6 slots for your org's carriers then hopefully one will free itself up soon - assuming local traders are available.

You'd probably need a Discord to co-ordinate filling up, unloading and tag teaming jumps.

I just wish theyd name the FC very obviously so anybody can spot them.

Unfortunately disease and famine are common in Refugee Camps.

Unfamiliar - another disease / blight that will need ABC delivered to research Z which will need distributing week after. The template is already there....unless its a Zombie Plague for Halloween.

Gamers? Giving up a chance to backstab each other on parking slots? Quelle idee! :)

I had to park two systems over. I still emptied my carrier.

You misunderstand. I don't care about emptying the carrier (although it'd be nice - I'd rather not vent the lot into space) but it'd be good to have some actual - y'know - satisfying gameplay where I was able to help out other people rather than just jump into a system, point my space ship at a station, leave it for 15-20 minutes, jump out and then repeat 10-15 times.

This one is a bit more about choice & options:

Space Trucking - easy, just do it (FCs can make it much easier if can find the right one that doesnt sell just 1 Black Box!)
Space Trucking+ - drop into Nav Beacon, or the installations, (havent tested USS yet) and do combat as well / on the way
Combat - Nav Beacon, Res Sites (both low), Installations (more medium), or PVP v the few gankers

So its more of a relaxed 'Choose your own adventure' CG for me. Ive done a bit of all 3, we do need a bit more of the first to hit Tier 4 though.

Congress Votes to Accept Marlinist Immigrants
26 OCT 3306
The Federation will grant sanctuary to Marlinist political refugees from the Empire, following a congressional vote in favour of Felicia Winters.

President Zachary Hudson had stated that illegal immigrants in the Federal systems Charunder, Ennead, HIP 36081, LTT 1935, LTT 3607 and Thetis would be detained and returned to Imperial space. This was challenged by Shadow President Felicia Winters, who argued that they deserved a more compassionate response.

Congress debated and then voted on her proposal, which received majority support. Government funding will soon be released to provide resources and accommodation for the refugee population.

Shadow President Winters told the media:

“Charities such as Safeguard Interstellar are already doing excellent work, but now we can officially offer safe haven and temporary citizenship to all Marlinists.”

“These innocent people only seek what we in the Federation take for granted – democracy, fairness and political representation. Their values are closer to ours than the Empire’s, and we have an obligation to protect them.”

Several newsfeeds, including The Federal Times and Sol Today, commented that President Hudson’s authority has been undermined by his refusal to comment on the charges against Fleet Admiral Vincent. The accompanying rumours of corruption and conspiracy have had a demoralising effect on his supporters, and increased the Liberal Party’s popularity.
