I'll just have one.
Mmmmaybe one more. :D

This is serious business, you're disqualified; galette translates to cake.

Or soup.
Maybe cereal.
It is true that the galette is a cake.

But the goal is to talk about oats and I wanted to give pleasure to the OP who seems not to be insensitive to Swedish galettes.

😊

I thought you Brits hated cookies. #GDPR
what gave you that idea?
We however do know what a cookie is and do not call all biscuits cookies (unlike some strange people) ;)

light segue but... muffins tho (as in the cakey ones not breakfast bready ones)... I think muffins exist to kill me. 50% of the time i eat them i get the damn things stuck in my throat. I genuinely have been in fear for my life on a few occasions (and that is the gods honest truth). It does not stop me eating them however :D

Cookies are an American thing/name, for biscuits. Yes we have cookies in the U.K., but it is more of a name of the product; than the name of the item itself.

You 'swallowing' issue is a psychological thing. Like some people have issues with swallowing tablets; yet they can swallow Smarties all day. It is the, thinking about doing it; that is the issue. Have you eaten scones? They are the same sort of texture.

I was joking about the cookie thing :)
As for the muffin thing it is a strange one. Nothing else does it and the fact the cake gets stuck in my throat is a physical issue not phycological. (And yes I do enjoy a nice scone too :) )

Why not soak each piece in coffee or tea before swallowing ?

Well, learn something new everyday. Apparently I have been enjoying Vanillekipferl my whole life and never knew the name. My grandmother on my dad's side made them for me all the time, now my wife makes them following the same recipe. We always knew they came from when our family left the Austro-hungarian empire to immigrate to the US, just always called them almond crescent cookies. The more you know....
I was in Vienna when I was young.

I remember seeing them in the shops.

I know very well "Alsace" in France. And I often tasted these little croissants.

I love also the APFELSTRUDEL.

There is a local bakery that makes apfelstrudel every once in a while, it is delicious. Another one that I have started to really like is Filipino breads. There is another local shop that opened just a few blocks from my work and I love going there for a snack.

Favorite cookie? I've always been partial to oatmeal (I know its weird) but I can never turn down a chewy chocolate chip.

Then you need these... oatmeal chocolate chip!

(might only be available in Canada)
