From what I can make out we'll be getting the following coasters in Alpha 2:

  • Arrow Looping Coaster (Corkscrew)
  • B&M Dive Coaster/Machine
  • B&M Floorless Twister
  • B&M Flying
  • B&M Hyper (even though it says Giga)
  • Giovanola Giga (even though it says hyper, they're switched)
  • Morgan Hyper Coaster
  • Giovanola Inverted
  • B&M Four Seat Inverted
  • Zierer Junior Coaster
  • Intamin Hydraulic Launch Coaster (Impulse Coaster)
  • B&M Stand Up
  • B&M Wing
  • Euro Fighter (shown in top picture)

A very interesting part in that video is that when he hoovers over each coaster a text box pops up that shows some info about the coaster type as well as the cars that will go on it. It's very brief but if you pause you can see it. It seems as if we'll be getting 12 different types with 2-3 different car types per track. That's a pretty huge number if it's the case!

Sidenote: Notice the water in the background - I wonder if we'll be able to unlock it like we could with coasters in alpha 1 :)

I hope you're right but I doubt we will be getting all these just this time around, maybe a couple more different types to test the builder. we should hear more in tomorrows live stream though :)

In the video John says that this is the Alpha 2 build. So we should be getting these coasters. I guess we'll find out on Wednesday during the last stream :)

oh that's a real shame i know that allot of RCT coverts view that as there bread and butter.

They WILL be a wooden coaster in the game maybe not for Alpha 2, but we will get one - it's not a coaster game without it, I guess the support system is more complex than the other coasters so it might take longer to do, but we will get one - eventually.

The 2 seat inverted is a Vekoma SLC (Suspended looping coaster) (Mind Eraser, Six Flags America)
The equalizer is a Morgan Hyper Coaster, not Arrow. (Steel Force, Dorney Park)
Great American Scream Machine is an arrow looping coaster (RIP GASM, Six Flags Great Adventure)
Sprint 500 is an Intamin Hydraulic launch coaster (Kingda Ka, Six Flags Great Adventure)

I wonder if the additional trains will be completely different models (for instance an 8 seater dive machine vs. the 10 seater shown in the thumbnail), or if it's just the same model with different theming/colors for now.

I really don't like that they used names of costers instead of the type of coaster.

How many of you know what the Ricochet is?

FYI it's a wild mouse coaster from Carawinds. Seeing Ricochet helps no one but regional people know what the ride is.

Agree, I wish they used the actual names. Idk though maybe copyright issues. Either way they should use the same names as they used in the old RCT games

Can't be copyright issues as the names of types of coasters were around before RCT 1 or the type was named before it hit a game. However they are using real names that is copyrighted.

I'm pretty sure that they would need permission from the coaster makers (i.e. Intamin, B&M, Arrow, etc) or pay them a fee to use their names in the game. It may change when the game gets closer to release if they do pay those fees/seek permission - but for now I'm assuming they don't really care too much as it's just an alpha.

Regarding the wooden coaster, it's definitely the most complex form of coaster to model due to its many planks and intricacies so I'm assuming they're taking their time with that one to make it right. There are also a bunch of different types made by different manufacturers so it will definitely be a lot of work to get those working properly.
