PS4 guy here, got my Cobra a couple of days ago, wanted to replicate 1984 :)
Took a trip to Lave last night as well, took me right back to my BBC Model B days!

Was a kickstarter backer but have never had a PC capable of running ED, so the PS4 version is a god send...I'm thoroughly hooked again. Only got to Deadly in 1984, so maybe I can go one better this time...who knows!

I own 2, Shelby, my in bubble Cobra with ads, dss, 32t cargo, srv, a rated everything, twin med pulse lasers and twin small multi-cannons, and Eastwood my Colonia fit, mix of a and b (getting a rated in Colonia is a bit difficult) quad beam lasers, mostly the same as Shelby aside from b rated and beams. I enjoy flying in both and the MkIII is an excellent pretty rugged all arounder, trade, fight, explore, smuggle, it can do just about everything and can carry an srv. If you're not real sure what to do but, want a new ship that's not to hard on the bank or eyes or just something with a cheap rebuy to fly into not so friendly places Cobra MK III is your ticket. Every Commander should have one in the back hangar as a default.

Well back from the ruins and grabbed myself one of these messed up ships :)

wish they'd bring the kits out for MK IV's as well!!

I really like the welded-on bypasses & stuff. I'm gonna have to play around w/ the raider kit a bit here soon! I wish there were a way to 'set' the paintjobs at a certain degraded percentage, too. I really like the worn look, but then past a certain point you kinda have to redo it and it's all shiny again.

The Cobra III is still my 'baseline' for determining how a ship performs etc.

I prefer the Cobra IV for it's flexibility but love the performance of the MK III and the ship kits etc.

I normally make my MK III look similar to my MK IV and RP it being a cut down racer version!! :D

Speaking of racing versions, I'm finally doing my first DD roll later.

Good luck!

I'm kicking myself (now) for not buying the Horizons expansion earlier so I could experience the Mk IV goodness. Hoping Fdev might someday open it up to the rest of us.

Having blocked that ship was a terrible idea. When it first got mentioned, I had assumed they meant everyone who bought in time + LTP owners got one for free and everyone else would have to buy one with credits.
That would have made sense. Blocking access is strange and frankly everything was vague in the wording of it when it first came out. Meh

I want the month to end already. Using EDtracker in the Cobra is gonna' be awesome.

I keep coming back to the Mk III. I tend to own one ship at a time and I'll soon be pulling the trigger on a Python, but this Cobra (my fourth) is a keeper I reckon.

New ps4 cmdr here, signing up for this great club!
Cobra III is a wonderful performing ship.
Getting into enginering and it's awesome, even for combat.
I've even bought the ship kit since I reckon it'll be a long relationship.

I don't know... Might just buy that raider pack next payday...

Reminds me... I totally forgot to check that kit out... Do all the parts add spikes or just certain ones?

It's just like the normal kits. Each area has 3-4 different parts that you can choose. Some are all spikes, some are like welded scrap and some are just random junk.

You can just put the sections on that are all spikes and look like a porcupine very easily :)
