That's a...contorted...interpretation of the word entitled.would be sufficient. It would generate a little bit of noise from the 'entitled' for don't want to share the toys that they bought three years ago.

you are entitled to your view but i think you are the 1st person i have ever seen defending the modern practices of splitting off completely game content into different versions across different stores to try to force completionists to pay multiple times to get all the content.I like pre-order bonuses and I think companies should be able to use whatever motivational techniques they want in order to sell their games to as many people as possible.
But then I don't act like a spoiled child if I miss out.
yeah. an engineered C IV is a decent small multirole ship (possibly the best small multirole??) - am sure i am missing an obvious other contender! Can the C4 be engineered to be a better ship?

"Can I get the cobra mk4?"
"No, unless you pre-ordered."
Seems clear enough to me.
I completely agree with you on this one.I personally miss the days where you paid your money and got a complete game... <shrugs>.
I only wish the lifetime pass would become available again, but it's fine. I'm going to buy all future content anyway because I love this game lolSeason passes (or life time pass in EDs case) somewhat mitigated the issue as i could just pay more but know i was getting a full game.... however now companies have gone down the road of releasing content outside of season passes which i think is crappy as well...
Thanks for doing the digging. I had seen it before but couldn't find it the other day when discussing the same subject on a different thread.
The line
'...We recommend PS4 users keep an eye on our social media channels for updates regarding the Cobra Mk IV...'
shows that the door isn't completely closed and not completely clear...
wouldn't surprise me, and if that type 8 exists in game, completionists will want it. no matter how horrible it is... and this coming from a mild completionist, at least when it comes to collecting ships hahahaYou know, I have a sneaking suspicion that when the 2020 update is offered for preview, they might offer the Cobra Mk IV again as part of the package. But then again, the Cobra Mk IV is very much the 'careful what you wish for' type ship.
Next they'll be asking to the Laykon Type 8.![]()

I was mostly countering Drews response that he was fine with companies doing what ever they wanted with exclusive pre-order content and the spoilt child dig to be honest...... but I am not sure i agree with you about smaller scope anyway. There were plenty of games with massive scope 10 years ago often without masses of DLC, but then like i said, that is where season/lifetime passes come in... Pay more but get all content in the game. (until companies started ignoring the passes and charging for DLC regardless)But there is no way FD could have had 100+ people working on it from 2011 to 2020 (and beyond) without any income. Complete would just mean 'smaller scope'.

Thing is, there are laws and regulations that protect consumers from similar practices in other industries. Example: if you sell a property you can't lock down the garage and keep a buyer from using it if they didn't purchase the property before a given deadline, or sell a car without a working AC unit unless the buyer pre-ordered said car. These protections, however, do not seem to expand to the games industry where certain gameplay related items can and often are blocked by preorder exclusivity. It's a matter of consumer rights and morality to not lock gameplay items behind exclusivity without giving some method of accessing them at a later date, either through gameplay achievement or additional financial compensation. If you don't like the way a conpany does business, vote with your wallet. It's a much better way of changing the way a company operates than (like the person I was responding to) demanding that things be made illegal.

I didn't miss out.
But, Frontier have handled the whole matter badly. It's a comms and trust issue.
and add a spoiler
If the many, many posts on this subject are any indication, you may be unique. They said it was exclusive and it's still exclusive. I have no trust or comms issues with that.
