Cobra Mk V

Well, unless Frontier literally publish all the costs involved, you and I can't speculate on what it takes to "keep the servers running". The most we know is Frontier are making a profit. What I don't like is how that profit is made. Where is Frontier's line of what is acceptable? Because I get the impression it's shifted lower and lower over the years.
Mate, cmon, you've chosen the wrong hill to put your moral high horse on. And now, you're preaching from some imaginary moral high ground while trying to count other people's money, cmon. I see how thinking this way would be convenient for you to reinforce your high-morals at expense of others - not really a moral thing to do isn't it...

Company produces a better product and makes money in the process to produce more and hopefully even better product. 2024 showed that it works - players get more/better game, company makes money to fund it and makes profit. If you expect things to be for free and that's how you think company should show that is cares for players - try to find a game from a charity. If you expect an online game to be funded with only DLCs, or if you want a perfect game with no mistakes along the way and no broken promises so it somehow warrants you moral money spending - go ahead and try to do it yourself, because for online/mmo/mmo-like games it doesn't exist. It is not a perfect world, perfect is subjective an objectively impossible, mistakes will always happen - probably hard concepts for high-moral people.

How? - Company sells early access to the new content, not even all content, only parts of it. It works. So far it works better than any other monetization that was tried before. Company can show how much it cares for players only by how they make the game for players to play - so far there is much more game gets released than microtransactions, and for the full year, and game gets objectively better (even Steam player count shows that very clearly), and with a plan to release more game in not so distant future for free.

I don't even want to talk how st not smart it is to judge other people morals based on purchases of ships that are going to be available for credits in a matter of months. That's probably what high-moral ppl do - judge others so they can feel better at others expense.

How are you doing?

Its not about morals. Speaking only for myself: I purchased every new ARX ship for at least 2 very definitive (for me) reasons:
  • those are new and better.
  • to give Dev leads some heavier arguments when management giving priorities. With better ARX sales stats they can always argue that instead of inventing few more weekly "missions" it is better to release one more ship. Or ship kit, or whatever. Basically with ARX I have influence (tiny one, but some) on "departments" inside FDev. If ships "department" did good, I voted with my ARX for giving them more resources. Naive? Probably yes, but nobody confirmed opposite ether (yet).

No, I haven't. The line between right and wrong may be blurred for you, but it's clearly defined for me. I have moral standards, maybe you don't, I don't know because I don't know you.

And I'm not your "mate".

It also really disappoints me that so many in this community just shrug their shoulders and show they have no moral standards.

Ok, maybe instead: low moral standards, and I do mean really low.

Whatever floats your boat, mate. Next time you want to judge morals of someone you don't know - remember your own words - you don't know. So yes, wrong hill, imaginary high horse, but you can feel better about yourself all you want, it just paints a different picture when you need to try so hard for it.

The settlement trespass zone issue report has now been Acknowledged by FDev 👍
I've been persuaded here that the first statement that the Cobra 5 is supposed to be a mid-ship was accidental :)

Cobra mk V among the best candidates to have folding wings. Simply "rounding up" to med pad will be too lame, IMO.

Recall by manufacturer to trim wings a little would be also kind of strange.

To be honest, exclusive ARX only ship... doesn't sound good lore wise. But I understand Fdev wants/needs money, so yeah...

As someone that doesn't have enough ARX, I'll have to wait to earn more.
Someone explained it in entire l another post with the manufacturer handing out a prototype to some people for final testing before releasing it to the market.

I think that's a good explanation and soon it will be available for credits.

I think the funniest thing Fdev could do is to fix the problem and then publish a Galnet News article saying something along the lines of "Faulcon Delacy has successfully negotiated with owners of surface settlements to allow the Cobra Mk V to land on their small landing pads even though its wings overlap the edges of the pads by 5 cm."

Folding could get strange if you have the ship kit fitted as the wings on that fold.

Perhaps they could let it land at 90 degrees to the pad axis.

Or... they could have one side fold up so it looks like an o7.

Has FDev indicated this is in queue for a fix? I just created a small surface settlement in a new colony and my poor Cobra V got lit up during the ribbon cutting ceremony, haha.

The patch notes for the Trailblazers update say:
Fixed instances of the Cobra Mk V being attacked when docked at settlements. Issue ID: 70727

I have not yet actually tested that it indeed has been fixed because I have been busy with colonization. I suppose I'll need to test it with some random surface settlement.

I wonder if they fixed it only on a particular kind of surface settlement but didn't on others, or something. I need to test it myself.
