CODE blockade and roleplay

oh we're 'bullies' again i see.. rofl.. weren't you the guy who got all offended when i called PVE solo players wimps? honestly. come up with a better argument than 'waahn bullies'.

our reasons don't have to make sense to you, they just have to make sense to us.
This seems like a very typical response if someone doesn't know how to respond to a solid argument, falling back on trying to make the other side look like they are whining about something without reason, or that they are whiners or somesuch.
It really has no place in a discussion so please don't do it, if you do not want to admit that you have no retort, that's fine.

The issue is that yes, many that identify as pirates, and I honestly don't know where code falls in this since who is who really?
But a lot of pirates only prey on the weak and there is no challenge or risk involved in that what so ever, and that is a kind of bullying yes.

If you guys are looking for fun with challenge, fighting big traders, and such, cool, if you are not, then yeah, by most definitions you are just being bullies.

Even if you want to reduce it to that level - even if it's "bullying" - so what? It's a game, the game won't always be fair. A trader can take measures to avoid getting pirated and even the T6 is able to escape most common pirate ships with some bruises.

I must admit, I spend WAY too much time on these forums, and it was only reading your posts this morning that I learned you guys have zero link to the twits (feel free to use any relavent vowel ;) ) in Eve.

I guess that means my respect has gone up for you lot somewhat!. people like Eve CODE are the reason I will not play that game...... you have picked quite the unfortunate "bad guy" tag however, as another poster suggested, if you do not want to be associated with a hate group, it may be best not to share their name, even if its just damn bad luck.

it is unfortunate that if your own members, (and by their own admission so it is true), are happy to go into private groups and knowingly and deliberately break their rules go unpunished even after bragging about it. It does somewhat weaken your stance that CODE members are "honourable" in their own way.

Accusations are always welcomed, please private message me the names so I can sort it out internally with others.

You Mad Mike,

When the T-6 goes into solo because of that, it's carebear mode.
When psychos in superior ships kill the T-6 without any risk or danger or consequence, except being hunted down by the same entity which makes solo carebear mode (NPCs), they are PvP-ing and thus uberplayers.

When the T-6 goes open, he knows that he is going naked and hungry into a war. Then nothing else is open - you run into pirates, psychos, bloodthirsty and bored assasins who will use him for target practice and weapon tests and this is still the best, not the worst that can happen to a lonely T-6 flying around. Sure he can meet nice people or fly around for hours without running into anyone who cares, but he should expect the worst. And nobody told him to fly the T-6. Get a trading conda, slap some shields and weapons on and have fun. Most small pirates would not even try to mess with a conda and bigger groups will only do it when they cann masslock the conda - so there will be at least a second conda involved.
Going into open with the slow, mostly shieldless T6 is like playing russian roulette. At least try a clipper and slap the best thrusters on it to run away.

But there are actually some people who enjoy this kind of risk and are happy if they dont die.

Thanks for the suggestion and if your group sticks to that going forward I commend you. As I was not the person griefed I won't name and shame him though I did read his gloating afterwards on here. I can only hope someone had a quiet word and he cleaned up his act. Either way he is banned from the group now anyway so he won't be back there with that cmdr again at least. For the record if I am to be pirated in open it will be fun to be someone who at least plays the role...

Just get a trading conda you say? Well I'm new to elite and right now the T-6 is all I can afford, I'm not even close to getting a Clipper let alone an anaconda. Bottom line is piracy is out of control during these community goal events and Frontier needs to fix the system security because right now they are useless.
I will stick to solo until Frontier provides decent security for us lonely T-6's.

This is the first I've heard of CODE receiving and handling reports of its members exploiting and I'm not convinced you aren't just trying to save face.
The CODE is not responsible for what you have or have not heard. Having said that, had you bothered at all to look into it, you would see that we have had a complaints section on our forums for as long as the CODE has existed.

This thread has post after post of accusations against the CODE for being griefers, and not playing by their own code of conduct, but despite asking people to get specific with these allegations, we have yet to see a single post with any specifics, let alone any evidence. And yet the people slinging the mud just seem to grow in confidence that their baseless mud slinging is completely justified.

So it occurred to me what's going on: this thread has simply become a gravitational center for drama. To demonstrate what I'm seeing, and have a little fun turning the tables, allow me this demonstration: the player group AA doesn't promote hacking, and are in fact opposed to it, but every group has every kind in it, and you can expect them to police all their players. Discuss. (I was going to say pedophiles instead of hacking, but I thought that might be going over the top).

Get a trading conda? I am sure that is on many traders shopping list but for many of us that is 500 hrs and possibly 12 months away!

Wait wait wait, you are saying that people should not play in open and risk meeting people, all kinds of people, because they don't have an anaconda?
Do you realize how absurd that is? how does he know he goes naked and hungry into a war? no one knows who they will meet, and yes they might meet a real pirate that might take their cargo, or they might meet a player that will just destroy them just because, yes, that is the risk they take.
Where is the risk the big combat prepped anaconda player or combat ready fdl takes by attacking a type-6? there is none. And apparently your kind of pirates don't want there to be any risk to yourself, but at the same time you are saying that others that DO take a risk should just suck it up and deal?

Do you have any idea how that sounds?

The one's taking the risk, ARE the traders, the one's who aren't taking any risks are the pirates as you describe them. So how exactly is it that you defend the pirates? because you 'are' the risk? so there doesn't need to be any risk to you? what? I don't get it.

I have gotten specific and was basically told that he's a saint. If you want to know more, PM me.

Security options are available to you that don't involve hiding in Solo. Recruit players to escort you - ask combat ships in-game or make a post on Reddit (r/traders). Fly in spirals or sweeping loops rather than going directly from the star to your destination. Don't rely on system security to save your hide; it takes 5 seconds for me to destroy a T6 if I decide to. No matter how strong the security reaction is it'd be too late to save you by that point and I'd be warming up my FSD. (Luckily I'm a privateer, not a serial murderer.)

Trust me, pirates are as much about the experience as you are. Picking on defenseless traders gets old quick.

Eh we pirates dont kill people if they drop some cargo (not all) or dont have any. Bounty hunters are a different story, combat ready ships with pvp-oriented outfitting cant be compared to a T6.
And for us there is no point in killing him. Pirates want some action, not scared victims who leave into solo or leave the game. There is a difference, if we kill everyone the open mode will be pretty empty. Thats just wrong.
And we risk a lot, because once pirates show up in a system, bounty hunters, mercenarys and "good" boys show up and try to get us.

The point is - if someone is trading in open, he should know the risk. And take it if he wants. I just say that the T6 is food for anyone who can find him. Condas, pythons and clippers are harder to catch etc.
And there are actually people in open who enjoy the interaction. They are not afraid of running into something that may cost a couple of credits, but bring them some adrenaline.

P.S. he can fly around with friends. That is how it usually works, there is protection for easy targets. Ever heard of a thing called convoy? Escort? Flight formation?
The game should make fun, pure grind(trading, farming RES etc solo) is the opposite of fun after a while.
Pirates would really love to engage a trader with escort, have a nice battle and try to win and get some profit after all.

I didn't say i had a problems with being in danger, I said you put others in danger without being in any danger yourselves, also i never claimed to play solo, you guys just assume i must because i don't want to play YOUR way.

The fact you can't correctly read, understand and reply to a forum comment partially explains why you continue to call what you do "roleplay" when actually what you do is intimidation for your own pleasure justified with a random name.

I grasp the concept of what you do just fine it IS simple, you get a big group together in a game that has no mechanic to stop you and you force your will on players who probably have no idea why you are there as most of them don't use the forum.

Same as anywhere in life as soon as there are no consequences for bad behaviour large segments of the human race revert back to pleasing themselves at the expense of others.

It's been going on in Elite since the Alpha test went multiplayer, the devs just call it "emergent gameplay" and ignore it.

Game will turn into eve where only large groups can survive in multiplayer and everyone else will splinter off into private groups or solo.

I don't care much hence my saying "just let them get on with it", first time it happened back in testing i took off into the dark and I still avoid the "civilised" areas except when i want to turn in mapping data.

Going after people whose actions are negatively affecting your chosen faction is no more "roleplay" than red team vs blue team in Halo.

As for "Game will turn into eve where only large groups can survive in multiplayer and everyone else will splinter off into private groups or solo." I play exclusively in Open, mostly by myself, and have not had any trouble surviving in multiplayer, even while I was trading in a T6. When interdicted and pirated, I followed instructions and dropped cargo. I took a hit to profits for that run but that's the game. When told to stay out of a system I either stayed out of it or took the risk going in until I saved up enough to fight back, at which time I kicked some serious ass and was left alone.

Entitled perspective.

Most of your posts seem to alternate between you stringing words together in ways that don't really fit with each other or what you're replying to, and patting yourself on the back for being an "intellectual." This one falls into the former category.

And when you got specific, did you happen to present any evidence?

If not, what did you expect? That a group of friends are going to side with a total stranger against one of their friends based on the stranger's word alone? I really hope that's not what you're actually saying, because I'm sure even you can sort out how ridiculous that sounds.

In the CODE, we actually want to be the best pirates we can be. This is why we are begging you, PLEASE, if you have any accusations, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us something to work with other than your own emphatic word.
