Colonia Core Circuit Expedition 3302 (C3E)

Somewhat of a new CMDR here, but I was already heading from NGC 7822 into the core anyway, so may as well visit Jaques anyway and join in the fun. Sadly, I'll have to skip Altum Sagittarii, as I'm not looking forward to blowing up my diamondback scout in such a lonely place.

Sorry Guys, cant make this anymore. RL commitments will mean I will not be able to keep pace. More importantly I will need reach Jaques in time lol. On my way but being held up. Safe trip CMDR's. Hope fully there will be another trip along soon.

A reminder for those who are joining the FleetComm private group for the expedition... You need to fill out and submit the provided online sign-up form and make a send a join request in-game to the FleetComm group.

If you have done one or the other but not both, I can't add you.

CMDR grnbrg.

I just signed up! Is there anyway to upgrade my FSD out in Colonia space? I have an AspX with a 5A FSD and everything else downgraded to D, my current base jump is 32ly which might get hairy for the Altum Sagittarii part of the expedition.

Isn't there an hour to depart all together? im about 7kly away but I'll be there on time

It's a small expedition and pretty spread out over time zones, so we're doing something where the smallest unit of time is 24 hours. That'll hopefully avoid situations where people in certain timezones miss out on everything. Instead, we'll all depart as we have time, and have any departure ceremonies etc on an ad-hoc basis.

There isn't a place to upgrade your FSD in Colonia. It's pretty low tech here. You should be fine with a 32 LY Asp, though. You might have to play games with your fuel (i.e.: not fully fueling your ship at certain points) to extend the range, but you should be fine.

Change of communications venue!

We are still using the CCN Discord server as our primary means of communication, but we're now going to be using an expedition-specific channel, #c3e, for communications. You'll still need the Exploration Wing Member role to post here, so self assign it with '@jeeves join Exploration Wing Member'

Party!

Commander Petroph is organizing a send-off shindig for us on behalf of the CCN!

I will be organizing a Send Off Party to those attending the Colonia Core Circuit Expedition (C3E). We will begin to gather at Colonia Hub at 19:00, unless instancing problems occur we may opt for a orbital or Jaques departure. Scheduled departure should be sometime after 20:00. This event will be held in Fleetcomm to avoid any unnecessary problems with third parties. Hope to see a good turnout, may even do a mass jump if the situation presents itself.

Be sure to bring chaff

Fly safe commanders o7

Hey not sure if anyone is still monitoring this but I'm not listed on the expedition on edsm, does anyone know how I can sort it out please?

Is there a button that says apply to this expedition on the expedition page? If not then i dont know sorry

You need to be registered on EDSM to be able to register on the expedition, iirc.

Possible change for Waypoint 3

There have been a lot of reports of commanders disconnecting from the game on jumping into a neutron star system. Upon relogging, a fair number of them end up in normal space in the jets of the star and are either destroyed or suffer a great deal of damage. According to this thread, Frontier Development is aware of the issue, and is recommending pilots avoid jumping into white dwarf and neutron star systems until the next update (2.2.02). Because we don't know when that update will land, and because the Blue Lilies Nebula waypoint (waypoint 3) is a neutron star system, I'm recommending that we avoid that waypoint and instead meet at DUMBAA PS-R C18-2660 6, instead. That system is less than 2 ly away from the Blue Lilies Nebula, and has a spectacular view, along with an earthlike world.

It's possible 2.2.02 might drop before we're due at Blue Lilies on the 14th. If it does, then we can happily meet at the basecamp in the neutron star system. But with about 100 pilots in the expedition, it's statistically certain that some of us would be destroyed by disconnects jumping in, and I just can't in good conscience recommend it.

The plan then is we will shift the waypoint to DUMBAA PS-R C18-2660 6, unless 2.2.02 hits by November 12th. I'll make another announcement on the 12th about the final decision on this.

Cheers Qohen and drazkul. It seems to have sorted it's self now as I'm showing as registered again. I'm just hoping it tracks properly as I'm terrible at setting these third party apps up.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I have already had 2 incidents of jumping into a system with WD's in and being in the jets (thankfully the only damage i took was 1% of my FSD)

Sorry to be picky, but the second meeting point is actually Waypoint 3 according to the route and itinerary on page 1 of this thread.

New Basecamp for Blue Lilies Nebula - Waypoint 3

There have been a lot of reports of commanders disconnecting from the game on jumping into a neutron star system. Upon relogging, a fair number of them end up in normal space in the jets of the star and are either destroyed or suffer a great deal of damage. According to this thread, Frontier Development is aware of the issue, and is recommending pilots avoid jumping into white dwarf and neutron star systems until the next update (2.2.02). Because that update has not been released yet, and because the Blue Lilies Nebula waypoint (waypoint 3) is a neutron star system, I'm recommending that we avoid that waypoint and instead meet at DUMBAA PS-R C18-2660 10 A, instead. That system is less than 2 ly away from the Blue Lilies Nebula, and has a spectacular view, along with an earthlike world.

The new base camp is:

Base Camp Designation : Lovell Canyon

Star System: Dumbaa PS-R c18-2660
Planet/Moon : 10 A
Base Camp Surface Coordinates : 44.53 / 4.91
Surface Gravity : 0.04

Approx. distance traveled : 6,400 LYs
Distance to next waypoint : 4,600 LYs

The site is a rough canyon with geysers and life, discovered by Commander Agh42. The terrain is rugged, but the canyon is broad enough to allow for a safe approach, and the low gravity of the moon means that landing is easy, even here.
