The hauling will get longer, though....
I'm hoping the CG megaships will relieve that a little but there's only 5 of them. Salt's going to be flowing later

I think once folks have carved out their own personal space you will see more massive projects involving hundreds of CMDRs. I know I will be in on that.It is only around 15,000 hops, so a big enough group, well organised, could probably complete that in less than a week... (apart from Beagle being a protected system, allegedly)
Although the logistics of hauling massive amounts of construction commodities over that distance might be challenging, but nothing a few thousand players couldn't achieve.
Really, in terms of "reachable with 15LY hops" I doubt there is no region that might be reached, with sufficient determination and player resources, but don't think there are single groups large enough to make this a reality.
Agree 100%To the medium ship point: the T-8 is so much nicer to fly you might not actually mind having twice the trips.
To the "everything is hauling" point: you can easily make five billion through exo, and you don't even need to leave the Bubble.
Though also in hauling's defence, just for @Dragsham , in another thread I vigorously defended how good the trade screens actually are if you use them the intended way around and in response I got actual abuse. So people definitely have some weird thing about the trade game.
Driving the T9 is punishment for all the bad things I have done...
Alliance Chieftains are why I have a shield and armor. It's not for everyone that's for sure, specially if you're used to moving around in a hurry.
I love mine, it's shieldless so runs very cool. I can jump faster and even use the SCO for extended periods. The SCO jitter can be terrible though![]()
The more I look at a System Colonisation Ship double-decker, the more I think that it would make for a nice fleet carrier upgrade.I'm hoping the CG megaships will relieve that a little but there's only 5 of them. Salt's going to be flowing later![]()
This is what I believe about my ex-wife... I will happily swap youDriving the T9 is punishment for all the bad things I have done...
Haha, so true. I want to smash open the canopy and end the misery.Driving the T9 is punishment for all the bad things I have done...
Well, yes. The point is that the players need to build functioning economies, or the whole thing runs out of steam. Or has an overreliance on fleet carriers. The hauling will get longer, though....
FC's are already camping out the high replenishment locations. This will continue, even with the colonization ships.Well, yes. The point is that the players need to build functioning economies, or the whole thing runs out of steam. Or has an overreliance on fleet carriers.
Once the novelty wears off, things will go back to normal once much less people are doing it.FC's are already camping out the high replenishment locations. This will continue, even with the colonization ships.
Considering the fanaticism of gamers, that's going to be a while...Once the novelty wears off, things will go back to normal once much less people are doing it.
Yes. Because when you build a resource system, you need a lot of materials to do so.FC's are already camping out the high replenishment locations. This will continue, even with the colonization ships.
I've been burning thru heatsinks like crazy since I've started a new system and need an FSD booster too keep the runs to down one jump... I mean, why wait for it to cool down, hit the boost and pop a heat sink! It's not for everyone that's for sure, specially if you're used to moving around in a hurry.

I actually quite like it myself. It feels like a hauler should, the only thing I'd like to tweak on it is the top speed to nudge it up a bit. I think the T8 is a bit too nimble though I won't complain. I mention this because for short/small runs the T8 is the go to for me and the difference in handling and speed when switching from the T9 to the T8 and vice versa is quite dramatic. I can only imagine how a Panther Clipper is going to handle. I'd suggest buffing the T9 a bit and then using the T9 as the starting point and adding a ton more drift but upping the retrograde thrusters to help bring it to a stop within the space of 4km.Driving the T9 is punishment for all the bad things I have done...
My biggest gripe with the T-9 is the the vertical thrust. You get close to the pad on a 1g world and give it a touch bit too much down thrust and you can forget recovering, your going to slam into the pad about as gracefully as a birdI actually quite like it myself. It can even hit that "sweet" spot where max acceleration is high enough vs max turn low enough that you'll just orbit and never come on target, you have to momentarily drop speed to be able to bring the nose around without overshootingBeyond that, the supercruise handling is atrocious... Nube loops are epic, especially when you're tired and on your last run for the day and just want to deliver the stuff and log off!

(I like that it's a challenging ship to fly. We should have more challenges. SCO was a great new challenge to add to the game; not just timing it well, but the extra heat management, instability etc)
It's called a "pushover" in aviation. Generally, not recommended, as the aircraft is built for positive, not negative g-loading. Also, your eyeballs tend to explode...I usually find it's better to do an outside loop, not an inside loop.
