Combat Loggers...    how many are there!!!! What kind of punishment do they receive and when?

You can, but I've heard that it doesn't work always. I think chances are low that you meet the same combat logger more than once so it would be useless anyway. IMO the problem is that some PvP players are scared that they run into a combat logger, the ideal approach to get rid of that problem would be a private group, just like most mobius players are afraid that they run into someone who wants to kill them if they are in open.

PS Open would remain the anarchy it is:
Open = Everyone can attack you but it might be that they leave the game
Mobius = Nobody can attack you
Siubom = Everyone can attack you

Problem solved.

I understand Suibom as the reverse of Mobius, but I think a better name for the open pvp server would be 'Bedlam' (Chaos, madness)
:)

According Frontier, Combat Logging is CHEATING : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=143287&page=6&p=2201167&viewfull=1#post2201167

And it is considered as an exploit : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=105778
"we do consider this an undesirable exploit. It’s not “part of the game”."

And it is covered by section 3 (c) in TOS : https://www.frontierstore.net/eur/ed-eula/

So stop telling it's ok to combat log if you are attacked.
If you can't stand losing in a game, play in solo (but be careful, NPC can kill you too).

3C = (c) use cheats, automation software, hacks, mods, or any other unauthorized software designed to modify or defeat the purpose or experience of the Game;

Where does that mention Combat Logging?
Your references to the forum are pointless just like all the begging threads on here as most players never visit the forums so are totally unaware what they are doing is frowned upon!

Trying to make a mountain out of a molehill

Read this post CMDR Mini gave you https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=143287&page=6&p=2201167&viewfull=1#post2201167

Here you see Michael Brooks, executive producer, call it cheating. If you notice in the EULA you provided, it says "use cheats" in 3C.
Notice the same word being used? Can you figure out why? Did you know that cheating means to use cheats?

I have no need to combat log - due to playing in Mobius where there is a welcome absence of winged up player killers camping around popular areas

I wasn't calling you one. I was just out to spook those so concerned by them. It's a lot like ganking a newbie to me. It's how I have fun.

Exiting the game is not cheating and therefore doesn't violate the EULA.

I doubt any one can tell the difference from CL'ing and the 15 Second Solution. It's all just a which hunt. Combat Loggers are bad......MMMkay?

Yep I do understand that it is widely viewed that using ALT F4 as a method of exiting PVP is accepted (on the forum) as cheating
But the premise of this whole thread is to try and punish/ban/etc CMDR's that do it over and over again in Open against other pro-pvp CMDRS

My point is - It is not explicity mentioned ANYWHERE other than here on the forums where the VAST majority of players have NEVER EVER BEEN
So how can you punish/ban/whatever players for an accepted method of avoiding unwanted player to player interaction when it isnt mentioned in the rules

Disconnecting is not using "Automation software" "Software", "Hacks", "Mods" or "Any unauthorized software"

So NOBODY is EVER going to recieve a BAN, shadow or otherwise for pulling the plug and exiting the game when THEY want to!

See where I am coming from? I dont combat log because I dont put myself in that situation through using the Mobius private group - had I not been on here I probably wouldnt have a clue about Mobius and would be happily CLogging away in Open

So how do you absolutely prove, beyond any reasonable doubt, that what happened was in fact intentional Combat Logging, and not a problem somewhere beyond anybody's reasonable control?

If you can prove it - you'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Hmmm, if it happens more than once maybe.
I know some people have really bad internet or a lively dog that wags its tail and knocks the router over but really.
If someone gets reported twice they need to be seriously looked at
