I like it, fix what's broken, beta test the new stuff, reduction in new bugs introduced. If new content is delayed, fine. I'd rather play something that works, than face game crashes, glitches and other not so nice issues.

No QoL upgrades. Just Bugs.
The line can be a bit fine in places - some of the UI issues for example ... are they bugs, or just poorly designed features? We can't really know without seeing what the design is supposed to be.

For example, the "drop" line visibility in supercruise is really inconsistent and in certain situations just fails to give you the information needed. Is that a bug, or working exactly as designed but the design doesn't take those situations into account. We can't really say. (I reported it as a bug just in case, though)

One other thing that would help is an issue ticket system that allowed for feedback. As it is, it is like screaming into the void. And requiring twice the number of confirmations as your other titles is unsupportable. If five reports is enough for Planet Coaster, it's enough for Elite Dangerous.
Yes, this.

There are not many issues which have five confirmations but not ten. Dropping the threshold to the same as the other games would make things far less frustrating - and make it a bit less likely that issues ended up with tens of duplicates - while not significantly increasing the number of bugs reaching Confirmed.

But really, if Frontier are serious about focusing on bugs, they also need to be serious on focusing on bug tracker management.

Subnautica < Subnautica subzero.
Elite horizons > schrodingers DLC

I dont mind the wait or the honesty.. but can we get some eyecandy for the q4 2020? Its not like it would spoil anything rather give people something to really look forward to and not jump ship to star citizen. Oh frakn 7

Do try to keep up. You're wrong because you said people like me would still complain, but I have nothing but praise for for Frontier's decision.

I said they will complain not for this decision, but anyway for the final result, no matter what FD try to do.
I would say that suffice to read this thread to understand I am Right.

the only "meh" thing i read there in the OP, is the fact that its again a "three month" cycle.
can't you just fix minor bugs with the weekly downtime, and keep the three month cycle for consoles?

I get it and I'm glad you've listened to the community. HOWEVER, This announcement sounds oddly familiar.

1/3/19 Community Update said:
We will also have additional game tweaks, benefits and bug fixes for all players.

In April, you released an update that included new items as well as over 800 Minor Bug fixes + A patch that included a few more.
And even this last update included "numerous bug fixes" along with some new features + 3 patches. (I couldn't find a number)

Because of these updates, I don't think any of us were expecting fleet carriers to be pushed back since most new content updates included bug fixes.

But then again, the last 2 updates were miracles because How many people look at the Issue tracker... Seriously, there's 114 bugs confirmed while 3,335 are UNCONFIRMED and about 100 people are working on Elite + some working on the New Era which brings us to "Wow... There's a decent amount of work to be done." So, with that in mind, I do get it. With all this work piled up, I'm slightly scared New Era is going to get pushed to a later date. To make sure new content doesn't get pushed AGAIN, Why not have a way or even a community event where Commanders earn Arx for confirming these bugs via video or screenshots submitted? That way, the devs don't have to spend as much precious time trying to duplicate a bug reported and can work on the issues at hand.

As a side note, I'd love to also see a Working on it Tag in the issue tracker so we know what bugs are being addressed.

Personally i find it a ridiculous descision and explanation. What's wrong with finishing up the carrier project THEN start fixing code. That is unless FDev cannot finish carriers in time, which i suspect is the case. 250 work days carriers have been in development if not more, and 30 workdays before the project is due FDev decide they can't do it because they've been told to do other stuff, what's 30 workdays on carriers compared to the potentially 90-180 workdays you're going to spend on fixing bugs, it's not much IF the carrier project is in a good state. Or even better, do a bit of both, but stick to your announced dates for a change.

skims the thread

Well, this sums up this community I think:

Mega LOL on Carriers i just knowing it Frontier is better to Say He the carriers Will Never come in Game we have Many Problems befor what.....

Well... Apparently i have played 2162 hours since i started the game 11 months ago.
Weird how i managed to rack so many hours in a game so buggy that has to defer long hyped content update to fight them bugs

I can't wait to see the long list "bugs" that will be fixed in the next update that will come in ... next January?
