Competitive building game brainstorm group

Well think that's it for me .. too frustrated to spend any more time and money on it now. Transport doesn't work for some reason now after doubling the size of the habitat so the big hit box critters could access at least half the space, and people not doing the long walk to visit it and will unlikely to see half the habitat from inside the building rofl.

Honestly about to call it quits myself. I am having issues filling the spaces between paths because I can't fit staff paths underneath them to make additional habitats even though there is enough head room. I can't move the upper paths higher as there is already the Caiman habitat built and it would mess it all up. I could go at it from the side through the walls but I didn't intend for it to be built like that. I am no longer enjoying working on it. I did manage to add Galapagos Tortoises, a Butterfly Walkthrough, and Boa Constrictors though.

Yay cool! Would you like to join the Rainforest House build? Rules are:

  • 2 hour time limit
  • no blueprints
  • paper planning is okay

Record your build if you can and send me the video file and I'll stitch together a youtube vid we can all have and share

Deadline is loose but roughly 1 week from today? Let us know if you need a bit longer. @FlameWizard492 feel free to join if this suits you too
Noted. I’ll let you know if I participate.

I've gone a bit crazy. 10 hours so far...had a really ambitious idea in the end so all the rocks and getting the paths right took up a lot of time. Just need to finish foliage and finishing touches though. Will finish today.

Well, managed to get my transport working - for some reason my monorails keep wanting to be a complete circuit, even though they are in the info documents as shuttle mode able. Anyway, people have been visiting the new building. Either as a drive through over the habitat or visiting the exhibits inside, or both. Recovered the habitat, and the critters are happy, they're breeding. Have a few more pictures to add to the google drive.
And it looks like I freaked out the game. Still a black screen after quitting the game a few minutes ago rofl.
Snippet from one of the images with a view of the gharials from the guest area.
The exhibit animals I added were:
Giant Forest Scorpion, Giant Leaf Insect, Golden Poison Frog, Goliath Beetle, and Green Iguana. Although looking at the site's zoopedia it shows the Green Iguana is a temperate creature rather than a tropical one. But I am sure they came up in game as a tropical one. But when I next jump in and find I made a mistake, I'll switch it out for one of the other Goliath critters.

Well done for persevering :) I haven't looked at your pics yet but looks great from the screenshots so far!

As you can see in the time lapse I was originally planning to house Capys with the Capuchins instead of Anteaters, but the water was being annoying (as per usual) so I switched it. I think it came out way better than it would have if I’d stuck with my original plan too.

Taking a break helped me. Plus it was in a zoo I am actively working on so it had to be up and running before I could go back to the normal game process.
And yeah, I hate the problem with unusual height gap requirements.
Look forward to seeing some of your screenshots.

Editing my video is taking forever and I'm not sure how much time I'll get this week, so I've made a slideshow instead. I might finish the speedbuild video at a later date, but I ended up completely ignoring trying to build quickly and really took my time with this one, so I clocked...ohhhh, 20+ hours at least?! Well that was a weekend well spent I guess 😅 Tomorrow: exercise and remembering to drink water.

Anyway - here is my submission for this first round of the Rainforest House competition! - Journey Through the Amazon

Finally got the chance to look at these properly. Really interesting use of colour - the red is really striking. Is it an Asian inspired rainforest? I love seeing other people's builds because it gives me ideas for using construction pieces that I never think to use. Love that it has indoor and outdoor sections. What animals have you got in the habitats?

Props on making the transport work, it's so difficult, I usually give up!

Yeah, I was planning on Giant Otters but my idea for them didn't work, so used South American themed walls for the building for that. When I realised I couldn't create a tank going up from the ground, I decided to switch to the gharials, so went for the south asia theme for the rest. And the exhibits contain Giant Forest Scorpion, Giant Leaf Insect, Golden Poison Frog, Goliath Beetle, and Green Iguana. I had all of them apart from the Iguana's in other parts of the zoo, but trying to spread them all out to help raise the fps count rofl.

Hello! I might be too late entering this rainforest house comp but here is my screen shot entry. I am keen to be involved in future build comps organised by players on here. I miss the build comps that were posted on announcements! I was actually going to create a post myself about doing this type of thing so Villanelle if you want help keeping this game/comp afloat I am on board!
Heres my submission :)

Outdoor viewing of the pangolin (still inside the tropical house but the larger green house room) not my fave view of the building and still needs work.

Build time just less than a week, over 20 animals. This building also has a Testudine area over the other side still under construction, which includes terrapins and tortoise walkthroughs. There is also access to the larger reptiles over the other side but there was a photo limit on this post..... There is also a snake room which is under construction too and more invertebrates. I still want to add another mammal or something else unusual if anyone has any ideas what might make a nice addition?!

Possible reasons I may be disqualified!...
I didn't realise that we were not supposed to use blue prints, are shelters and exhibit shells considered as blue prints?
Did the build have to be complete by the time we submit? as I will add more to this in the future.
No worries if I am, I should have read the thread through more carefully!
