that isnt the point of the post the post is looking at zoo tycoon and comparing what animals are still left to add in planet zoo doesn't matter if they are important animals just that they are from zoo tycoon and not in planet zoo
Many of them are definitely necessary for me. Japanese Serow not that much but it would definitely be useful for the Entrance Area of my japanese Zoo, where I keep all of the native Species.
Would be fine though if they exclude the Animals that aren't kept in any Zoos (and especially if we someday get a Marine Pack, if they would exclude the ones that can't even be kept in Zoos at all)
And were/did these subspecies counted as missing from Zoo Tycoon 1 list too? African leopard (spotted) and Asian rainforest leopard subspecies (as black). I could tell by their location and biome in that game.

A lot of wolf subspecies (and a lot of subspecies in general) look different from what we have in game... it's one of the big problems with trying to use a generic model to cover an entire species.

I agree. But the most obvious one is the gray wolf, unfortunately, and I still think it should be renamed. It's a simple rename, that's all, and I'm surprised it hasn't been done
Technically untrue. It's an incredibly messy animal.
It is generic, but it does not cover every subspecies. It only covers boreal subspecies according to its in-game distribution map. I would check the exact areas but mine's modded to be more specific now.
Edit: And then, to make matters even uglier, the Zoopedia description goes on to describe 38 subspecies.
