I did enjoy the paragraph about ARX smoothing the purchase of custom items. Putting an extra currency in always ensures a smoother process, jumping through two hoops is always easier than one.
What do you mean, it saved Frontier having to pay a fortune in corporation taxLots of white knights making fun, but the fact is that Odyssey brought only loss for Frontier. They are not about to pull the plug just yet, because that would make no sense, but obviously they will try to salvage what they can with as little investment as possible, so no big future plans for Elite anymore.
Funny thing, right?Years upon years of no mention of future development... This game has been dying for so long!

Considering a lot can be done via the BGS and tweaks to the proc gen nature of the system, I imagine a fair amount can be done without massive expenditure. FD seem now at ease adding new things such as voice logs, drops in game, more involved CGs and now the Thargoid War. 2023s update I imagine will be Powerplay (which will most likely leverage the Thargoid mechanics in U14 and learn from that) and then extras would be again number tweaking.Lots of white knights making fun, but the fact is that Odyssey brought only loss for Frontier. Vista Genomics is now the best early-game cash cow, can earn you hundreds of millions within the first few hours of playing. And all it takes is the stock Sidewinder and an Artemis suit which you can buy from the starter money right away.Huh? Which pay-to-win feature? Genuinely curious.
I think its better put "pay to get to objective faster" than P2W.Vista Genomics is now the best early-game cash cow, can earn you hundreds of millions within the first few hours of playing. And all it takes is the stock Sidewinder and an Artemis suit which you can buy from the starter money right away.
It's also great later in the game if you want to use a carrier for exploration, because you can easily pay the upkeep from Vista Genomics payouts while out in the black.
But only if you have Odyssey.
So what are you actually winning at?Vista Genomics is now the best early-game cash cow, can earn you hundreds of millions within the first few hours of playing. And all it takes is the stock Sidewinder and an Artemis suit which you can buy from the starter money right away.

Its more about 'existing' in ED than any sexy exclamations of "WINNING!"So what are you actually winning at?

Those early days without fuel scoops, Star Wars level collision detection (one scrape = 95% hull damage), no engineering, no INARA, low money, hot and thirsty Vulture / FdLs were the best.Yep. The game was way better when every decision mattered. You could actually go backwards on a bad deal. Losing a ship hurt. Gaining a ship felt like an achievement. It's pay to lose.
But what is won? A few credits is winning? Wow!Vista Genomics is now the best early-game cash cow, can earn you hundreds of millions within the first few hours of playing. And all it takes is the stock Sidewinder and an Artemis suit which you can buy from the starter money right away.

How dare you. All exploers think, that it is good, and combat is opIf a player is foolish enough to embark on this route (and the Vista cashgrab is probably already the meta in all the idiot "best start" guide), the player robs himself of the early game experience, which is actually awesome.
Another year, another annual report
