Console Profile Copy Process - Live Now!

I really picked a bad time to try to copy my console data over. I logged in on Xbox for the first time in a very long time to spend my Arx and move my ships. Then this afternoon I tried to go through the copy process only to be told that because I have a PC account already with a Commander save on it, I need to log into the game on PC and clear that save before I can continue. So I had to update the launcher... then update the game, which took ages... Then I go to log in and I'm hit with server maintenance for the 4.0 release!

So I guess I'll have to wait until this evening before I can clear my PC save and do the account copy. Bah!

I was gonna request account copy today, but then I realised it is patch/update day also.
Think I'll wait for things to settle down and bugs to get fixed before I transfer, keeping my FC, fleet and 16BN for another PC Account.
Also, if I am short of cash on the new account after getting FC, etc., I can use console FC to transfer Billions to my PC Cmdr!
True.

Although the more I thought about it the more it made sense to me at least to move the fleet carrier to the PC account so I decommissioned it on the PS and re-bought on the PC as it will be more convenient there.

I figured keeping the PS FC would allow me to keep exploring/mining in the black in undiscovered systems when theCG (usually in or near the bubble) is either finished or not to my taste - i.e. one sided or Azimuth, etc. or of course Flossy's (in)famous ANNOUNCEMENT No New CGs this week....

If you transferred to a pre-existing steam/epic account (for which you did a clear save before the transfer) then you need to start the game using the respective steam/epic launchers and not the fdev/standalone launcher
Unfortunately it was just from PS4 to PC. Gonna give it some time and maybe it'll straighten itself out.

I mentioned that I transferred to a new account.

Does anyone know how long the console transfer process will be offered? Like if I'm still playing on Xbox and not quite ready to transfer, how long do I have??

I'm going to do the migration this weekend.

Step one: Burn some of the 16k+ ARX I've farmed on the PS4 version over the past few years. (NB.: I haven't spent any real world money on ARX and I don't intend to but have scrounged a lot and used a little; and, as for the Xmas ARX event, I thank you).

Step two: Revive my Frontier Store account which I haven't accessed in years.

As an aside to console players: When I was still playing the PC version before starting all over again on the PS4 Microsoft Visual Basic was bundled into the ED installer and had to be installed separately. Without it the launcher wouldn't boot. I don't know if this is the case with newer iterations of the installer.

I think what I read is that it would be open indefinitely..... but I would only intepret that in a development studio context.

Is there a feature so I can copy my alt account at a fee?
Or is the only way to buy another PS ED copy and try to install it on the same console I've been playing on? Not sure if this is possible to have 2 ED copies on one.

My alt account is worth alot to me, can someone please advise me?

Has it been confirmed that items stored on the FC (ships/modules) will be copied across to the PC account? I have assumed that the reference to FC contents only applies to stored commodities. I don't have the shipyard or outfitting installed, and I do not want to decommission my FC.

As I do not have a PC my intention is to sign up to GeForce Now. Will I need an Epic or Steam account linked to my Frontier account in order to use the complimentary copy of EDH or purchased copy of EDO?

If I read correctly Fleet carriers are NOT transferred.

The migrated ED install is through the Frontier Store. It's vanilla and doesn't require a Steam account.

I now have three accounts. My original PC Steam ED account, the PS4 account and the migrated PC account through the Frontier Store.

The migration happened for me very quickly and I thank you.

I have installed the launcher but have yet to download and install the vanilla ED. I must admit I'm not looking forward to the painful process of key bindings again. Having everything on the controller was what made the PS4 version of the game work so well.

I am assuming up to this point everything has gone smoothly with the new account and store login and my third Cmdr 'Doc' Benway will be out in the black sometime soon. If there's any problems that's what support tickets are for.............................

I also note that the launcher installs with MS Visual Basic and the DX deployments bundled in. A welcome change from the PC version back in the day.

Thank you.

Just wanted to pop in and say that the transfer was quite painless and smooth. I transfered my XBox original account from 2017 over to join my other two on PC. Not sure I'll use him much, but it's nice to have him on PC now. Thanks to all at FDev who made this possible.
