Console Profile Transfers and 2022 Updates

I'm actually quite impressed by this. My question remains the same - will there be a merge option for console CMDRs who already bought Horizons on PC, or is the only option to import as a separate, new "alt" CMDR? If the latter, will that alt be a free account, or will we need to buy another copy of Horizons to transfer over?

Another related question - you emphasized that Horizons on console is going nowhere, and that servers are not shutting down anytime soon. What does this mean for Horizons on PC? Will it remain as-is, or are there still plans to merge Odyssey code down into Horizons creating basically an "Odyssey Lite" game to replace Horizons?
It comes with a free horizons account, without EDO. It is an alt.

Not sure that's an option is it?

It may be, i guess it would be the same as a deleted commander / clear save, it will not be an account merge.
Anyway, i would expect this will either cleared later on or you'd need to discuss it with the support - but i'm not seeing any stopper here

The stopper is the transfer is to a new, free, horizons account.

Happy that I can transfer my CMDR to PC! A little bit sad about the Carriers though. I have well over 200 Thargoid Hearts, SAP-8 Cores, and Trinkets of Hidden Fortune aboard mine for Raxxla research purposes and I guess I have to lose all those now. Still worth it for keeping all my other progress. Thank you FDev, I know I have been very critical (and still will be when you mess up again, lol), but I can at least recognize effort when I do see it. I know sorting all this transfer details out behind closed doors probably took a decent amount of staff hours and took management away from other stuff, so for myself and the console community, thank you for taking the time to work this out for us. While we would have loved to see continued development on consoles, this transfer will be an ok compromise for at least some of the users from these platforms. Hopefully someday in the future, two or so years maybe, Fdev can reassess if Next Gen console support will be worth it, that is if the game is still being developed for at that point in time. Once again, thank you.
Don't decommission the carrier, buy 2nd carrier on PC, transfer cargo to PC carrier, decommission old carrier, transfer credits using new carrier. Or keep both depending on what you are doing the console account.

Paul confirmed there will be no merge - it will be a new account
and Arf said on the stream that people will be given a free horizons copy - one per purchase (so if you have multiple XB/PS accounts on the same purchased copy, you'll get a single free copy of horizons)

So Arx are NOT being transferred but cosmetics ARE being transferred.

There is an * for the cosmetics transfer saying that applied cosmetics will remain applied. Is this a requirement or are non applied cosmetics also being transferred?

One thing to note. It would be a really nice gesture for FDEV to hold a black Friday-like event, where they make all of the cosmetics available and at a discount. This will encourage all of the console commanders to spend all of their Arx prior to the transfer, and more importantly, feel good about it.

Only if you need the 5 billion with your transfer, you can always leave the carrier commissioned until your PC commander gets a carrier of their own to pick them up. Won't help for rares or anything that can't be placed up for sale on the market.

Then you can either leave your console commander as they are with the old carrier, or even decommission it, and then buy some overpriced commodities from your pc carrier to move the 5B over that way.
I'd suggest selling tritium for 500k/t then donate it straight back if you wanted that option.
