When starting the game display goes to black then disappears from the desktop. For me that has been a graphics settings problem before. Continuing the game is running with audio only then crashes. Not knowing what to look for in the log file doesn't help.
OK, saved my bindings and am now doing a a full reinstall directly from Frontier. At 41 percent and more to follow...
UPDATE 1: ISP provides 300Mbps download and Frontier sends at 9-11Mbps for 59min 45sec. Would have to do it again for Horizons Legacy. Starting again no change in the problems with the disappearing screen and then game crash. Oh well, good for others to know not to bother with reinstalling the game. Meanwhile another 39min 25sec to install Horizons Legacy and the Trainer.
UPDATE 2: Game display disappearing fixed. Looks like my problem versus others. Using the following Frontier
instructions I changed the DisplaySettings.xml values for my specific MSI monitor from fullscreen borderless to 2560x1600 windowed. Now the game display is always there up to the point where the game crashes! OK Frontier Devs...your turn.
UPDATE 3: ED crashing after startup fixed for me anyway. Before the Thursday maintenance the Nvidia 536.67 drivers were working with ED. Afterwards ED crashes. Installing the latest 536.99 drivers no change. Installing 536.40 drivers and ED is operational again.
Frontier just completed performing an update to the servers. I started again with the latest Nvidia 536.99 drivers and it appears that...wait servers down again...up and down again a few times...OK I'm in with the latest Nvidia 536.99 drivers. Time will tell if it stays that way.
Hope this info helped someone out there!
