Continual crashes - any response from FDEV?

This is a good example of the unrecognized excellence of FD teams. They spend their weekend (many may have planned that otherwise) and work overtime trying to get our favorite leisure time game back. One could say, this is just the normal with DevOps (🥂), but actually it's not and definitely requires proper acknowledgement. FD staff are sterling, such a good crew. Thank you, you rock! 🚀

EDIT: current state is perfect conditions, zero crashes, just the missions are down currently. Go bounty hunting instead, explore or trade. Fight the Xenos. And cash in later \o/ :)

O7,
🙃

hear hear

(as a support/infrastructure guy i know the meaning of having a bad weekend especially when this get topped by ungrateful co-workers)

Now I can enter the game without any problems, but the missions are not available anywhere.

other than that, I tried picking up and dropping cargo from my fc, there doesn't seem to be a problem.

but I haven't tried to buy anything from the stations. I do not know this.

I send my best wishes to the Fdev-Elite Dangerous team, who are doing their best with the "team said to be limited in number". but please order one less beer at the pub to the crew member who's messing things up this Thursday so we're even :D

...
But, has anyone else noticed 'Mission Targets' now don't show in the Signals list after accepting Kill / Assassinate missions and scanning the Nav Beacon..?
Frustrating workaround is scan the system FSS.
Also, Kill (pirates) counter has stopped on missions..??

Please do.
I’ve updated the thread I popped out this morning with additional news that Missions are behaving now but will keep as close an eye out as possible.
Just so sorry it’s a little lighter focus than I’d like with it being ECM and the weekend.
Thanks so much for being so patient and understanding, many of you.

Thank you..!!
It is working much better, however when you take on Kill / Assassinate missions, and jump to the target system, the Mission Target signals do not show up anymore, even after scanning the Nav Beacon.
The only way to pull them up on the signals list now is to FSS the system which is crazy time consuming.

I will admit that I didn't expect this to be resolved until after the weekend and want to express gratitude to the team that resolved these issues.

That said, it doesn't excuse the fact that this should never have happened.

Patience and understanding is laudable, but I fail to see anything that sheds light on how these egregious failures occur all too frequently.

You would think more oversight and review measures would be in place prior to letting someone hit the enter key and allowing catastrophic failure.

Until next time...

'too frequently'

- I think that's how it happens ;)

It seems their servers are not having a good day. They've apparently fixed the crashes that some were experiencing, and broke the mission boards for everyone in the process.

My car needs some maintenance anyhow, might as well get it done now :)
Yep, all good by the time I was done. I've been putting off that maintenance for a couple weeks. Perfect motivational timing, FDev!

Is the mission board bugged, or is this normal? I'm expecting 166 missions under ALL, but it shows 75. Clicking on it only lists 72 missions.

This is something I've noticed weeks ago but couldn't be bothered to whine about. it's not showing all the missions. Let me know if you do a ticket on it or find an existing ticket and I'll add to it.
I haven't used the ship-based mission board in years, so I was wondering if it's something new since the fix. It's obviously not new, so I'll just ignore it like most minor bugs. If I submitted a ticket for every bug I see, I wouldn't have any time to play :)

Yup same with me.. Do I look like a payed QA tester Fdev?? I've payed my dues trying to help this game being better in the past. Will only help out now if I feel in the mood.

Bad things happen, humans...
I'm sure many posting here are familiar with the concept.

Easing the weight on the transaction servers, by way of less missions, would have probably seemed like a logical solution... since that seemed to relate to the bulk of complaints.
Time will tell anyway since we know very little.
