Core mining seems a bit broken since Trailblazer update?

I'm not much of a miner when it comes to ED but have been doing a fair bit recently while my notoriety is high (had to murder Sirius Corp employees to unlock Uma Laszlo).

Anyway, once the asteroid is broken the surface deposits won't dislodge from the fragments when using the abrasion blaster, it started working again after I had nuked a third asteroid. Unfortunately, I've not been able to replicate this as I only mine once per game session and I've not found three core asteroids apart from that one time so unsure if the bug fixes itself after 3 attempts or if it's related to play time or game session.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Not very optimistic as I'm sure most people are trying the new colonisation mechanic right now.

I haven’t experienced this as I haven’t mined in ages but I think I saw someone talking about this probably in one of the threads about the update.

OK, thanks, I'll just leave this thread here and see if anyone else can add any info, in the meantime I'll raise a ticket.

I just came across this issue. No nodes can be blasted off after cracking the asteroid. This needs a fix ASAP.

Perhaps this has to do with cores that are within the spawning radius when you first drop in? They fixed the relog bug and that may have caused it.

The other thread (linked above) clarifies that it only bites when you surface-mine the rock before cracking it.
I cracked 3 last night and was able to use the abrasion blaster on all of them.
This is a very old bug. Surface mining causing the issue is implied at this point.

I had this issue before the trailblazer update. What was odd though is everything worked fine for the 1st core I did but not for the 2nd or any subsequent cores. At the time I thought it must have been my instance that was bugged. I didn't do any surface mining but I may have drilled for deposits before blowing a core.
