Coriolis.io - A new ship builder and comparison tool

Just another feature that is already present in EDShipyard and is really useful: If you disable a shield booster from the Power Use Panel, at bottom-left, the change should update the overall shield strength in the top bar: that is not happening right now and the Shield strength remains the same.
Right now you must completely delete/unequip the Shield Booster for the change to apply.

lovin' it.
would love it more if the compare function would somehow let you compare "combat value"... but what would that be.... damage per second with "all guns balzing" or something?

Any chance you could add:

<meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes">

so that if used on iOS, if you add it to your Home screen, it'll launch as a full-screen "app".

Says the Viper is 95K to buy. I thought it was 140K or so? Am at work and can't check, but fairly certain.

Also, I use a huge screen. Can you extend the menus to full length to avoid scrolling up and down all the time.

Seems to work all right on Google Chrome. Nice project. Good job.

Yeah, will do. Still need to tweak a bunch of stuff for mobile.

You know, you could commit this yourself.... :p (I'll take care of it later tonight unless I receive a PR in the mean time!)

If you pick the default Viper you'll notice the cost is just over 142,931, which includes of the default components that come with it when bought. 95K is the 'barebones' price of the hull/ship.

Couple features that may not be quick, but would be awesome... (and maybe if I get some time in the next couple months I might consider committing them myself)

- First off, add the new ships from PP, so that we can play around with them :)
- Add ability to define power levels like on the ship (priority levels per module)
- Add ability to simulate with hardpoints deployed or retracted, to see what would be disabled with the set priorities.

As a result of the above you could tweak an overdriven ship config that can still work (I do it regularly where my ship runs at over 100% when deployed, but I run my priority levels carefully configured to be fully functional depending on situation).

Just a thought :)

Another suggestion would be some means to compare combat capabilities (saw that's been suggested already). Perhaps do some pretty general stuff around raw DPS of all equipped modules. Not true, but gives an idea of overall burst capability. Hell if you added the ability to assign fire groups to weapons as well, you could take the peak DPS of any one fire group.

That aside, I realize that complicates the UI plenty, so not expecting those to be easy features :) just throwing them out there.

Either way... AWESOME app... I absolutely LOVE this thing...

Not sure if this is what you meant or if you were proposing something more robust, visually and interface wise, but just in case, you can already simulate overdriven ship configs by clicking the appropriate modules to turn them off or on then view the total power output under "retracted" and "deployed". (Ex:turn off modules and then check if "deployed" stays under 100% for the module combinations) :)

I only bring this up because EDSY has apparent check boxes for this purpose while coriolis does not visually appear to have this feature until you scroll over the module names and realize you can click on them to disable/grey them out.

I think what he's looking for is the ability to set module priorities and click "deploy hardpoints" to see exactly which modules get shut off.

This is an amazing tool. Reminds me of the great tools from the old Eve Online era where community made tools far more useful than CCP did! Amazing work.

Ah, it works now (firefox). Boy, this looks very good! They should make fitting screen like this in game...

This is a great tool and very well done.
.
Have been playing with it last few days and wondered if it would be possible so when you cursor over the object the top box changes to the specification of the object so you can see what it is before actually selecting it. At the moment you have to select the item to see what its stats are.
.
Amazing what the folks have achieved creating tools like this, but sad that we actually have to. Why on earth is the in game system not this good.

Just another detail for further polish.

Next to the name of the ship in large letters at the top would be nice to feature the name of the company developing the ship. For example where it says Diamondback it could say Diamondback (Lakon Spaceways). Maybe even include the company's logo if it would fit the layout and current design. It doesn't bring great value but adds to immersion and completion.

Great stuff!

If I could have one thing it would be to simulate power assignments in modules so you can see what will fly in combat.
