Ships Corsair Build for PP / Regular Combat Zones (CZ) and Haz Res / CNB

It's only there to keep hatch breaker limpets from getting to my cargo hold. This is pimarily for when I collect escape capsules in a res. Without a PD I'd lose the collected cargo to an NPC with a hatchbreaker. Of course when I'm after bounties and not loot I'm putting a KWS there instead. And if this were a pure combat build and not a multirole, the two cargo racks would be SCB instead and that PD a heatsink.
Very jealous of the two 6E racks. Just sayin'.

What kind of missions are these? I did missions to assemble capsules for PP, I don't remember anyone stealing them. For me, the worst problem there is that there are allies, they steal the capsules from under your nose.

Not really missions, just the occasional powerplay assignment.

Power play weekly assignments occasionally tell you to go collect escape pods and hand them in at the power contact.
I mentioned them above.

there are either enemies and then you have to fight, you kill them or run away. Or your own, they are also collecting capsules right in front of your nose.

Apparently pirates in RES sites do steal your escape pods. At some point I imagine you don't want to shoot the pirates that keep turning up and annoying you with hatch breakers, you just want to collect and keep your pods.

What does RES have to do with it? I don't get it.
They give you a weekly mission to save something (including capsules) you fly into the system, there you find a State point with debris. Usually 11 pieces.
It can be allied - you collect it without a fight, but you need to be faster because the capsules will be taken away.
And it can be enemy, you fly in and start collecting, enemies fly in, you either run away or kill the enemies.

I don't understand what RES or pirates are.

Because you don't have to use the state point to collect the capsules. If I'm doing those missions I sometimes do them at the nav beacon. You can equally choose to do a res and collect them there. In either of those scenarios you risk losing the capsules you've collected if a pirate scans you and demands cargo. That's where a PD is helpful.

It's just a different way of achieving the same thing, and tailoring the build to how you choose to play the game.

I agree, but you can also collect capsules in the Conflict Zone.

I thought they did, at least in the past. But without checking one out now and specifically looking, I couldn't tell for sure, since I don't care. In a CZ I'm in "get target, kill, next" mode, no time to stop for materials.
I also didn't try to launch collectors from the Corvette. But I constantly collected material from the Cutter in AX conflict zones, since my AX machine guns spent a lot of ammunition.

Also taking the opportunity to bow to @Elpapo for turning me to an all-Concord Corsair built. That's REALLY funny to play with. Personally I use the bland overcharged/oversized variant.

I join you in this, such a build is really great fun!

For a more conservative approach, I mixed them with large Beams (1 LR, 2 EFF) and a corrosive MC in the lower hardpoint. Still fun, very effective in pirate massacre MSS or with multiple pirate lords.

(btw, example for a build with reduced topspeed ;-) )
