Could or should Frontier enhance the FSS or add in and incorporate an optional ADS-like expansion module?

Nope, firstly you don't need to forums to be in such state to make the set of people who dislike the dissapearance and/or the FSS itself, secondly, they were short of that when the update fell in place.
There were minor rumblings in the beta, mostly Burke’s nonsense until he let slip that he wasn’t even in the beta and his credibility evaporated. Nothing like the madness that came about when AX missiles got nerfed, or when the Dove Enigma got lulzbunnied.
Burke was on the topic from day 1 (or there abouts) of the beta I can vouch for that.
Minor? Mods closed down a good dozen threads because of duplicates and Burke was most certainly not the only one making the threads, also, those issues were forgotten pretty quick, that's not the case of the ADS given the mere existence of this thread.
But not actually playing the beta and experiencing any of the changes he was whining about.
No, the other issues were resolved by FDev down the line (UA bombing was removed altogether and AX weaponry was rendered obsolete pretty quickly) because of massive backlash. What you’ve managed was and is fairly insignificant, and has even been officially turned down by a head developer. You just can’t grow up and accept it or move on.
Dove Enigma's case wasn't resolved (there was nothing to resolve), removing UA bombing didn't change that story in particular. The rest of your post is just your rather disingenuous opinion.

Devs change minds, also, that "grow up" insult is rather pathetic, wouldn't be surprised if someone else had used it to warrant RL protesters to stop protesting lol.
They only change their minds for important people (the chosen few who got to visit their HQ and see (and likely provide feedback on) things like the FSS during the development stage.
I'd say Allitnil is an important person given he's the most prolific explorer out there (there's even a joke about him and his tags), he's certainly more respected and well known than some of the guests who went to HQ.
Never heard of him or seen him around here.
He doesn't post much but a lot of people who had used EDSM and/or went exploring in the fringes of the galaxy will have heard of him (hence the tag joke).
And yes, he did express regret in the disapearance of the ADS (and lack of a good substitute) here in the forums.
He's had several of the exploration related records (first to travel to Colonia without using a fuel scoop and so on with that sort of thing) and is or at least was the most prolific explorer in the game. He is very well known in the exploration community, at least on the forums here.

He did say he disliked the changes, he certainly didn't persist much though. He's still a counterexample...

Unfortunately, I suspect he may have given up on the game since the changes to exploration.
IDK if he left because of the changes but he sure has left given his EDSM logs (or rather, their lack).
