Could or should Frontier enhance the FSS or add in and incorporate an optional ADS-like expansion module?

You are just lying

About what? Giving up on the ADS coming back? If i really really cared i would have got that cheat they use and gone out and scanned loads of planets with it. ED as a game just doesnt pass the test any more. Its boring and they killed off the last bit of enjoyment it really had to offer. Is that some kind of achievement? This is the standard of games they make is it? Why are they so deaf to feedback anyway? I must admit to being curious to see how its all going to turn out.

Other than attacking the poster, sure.

Its all good. I drain their energy and add it to my own. :D

I wrote it on my phone. I added a comma to clarify. Y'all aren't trash, but this suggestion is garbage.
I might have missed it, but what suggestion are you actually referring to? You mean introducing an optional module like the ADS back into the game?

I didn't really state at all in the OP what I meant by enhancing the FSS other than having something that wouldn't make me have to park in supercruise and leave the first-person cockpit view.

Thanks.

All of the navigation is already abstracted into separate menus already. It made perfect sense to do it that way for the people who had already been exploring forever and needed something vaguely interesting to do rather than woot free money honking. The only rational motivation to return to an ADS is to make it easier to botgrind accounts through The Road to Riches again.

I more than doubled my credits from exploration with two short trips after the introduction of the FSS, and I was already Elite...

The ADS wouldn't / didn't make it easier to grind credits - definitely didn't make it easier to spot ELW's than the FSS does.

Wouldn't it be easier and a lot more efficient to make a bot for the FSS anyway? I suppose now though there is the new autopilot supercruise stuff added in. I haven't bothered using any of it.

Nice deflection.
I thought that was addressing one of the points you were trying to make. Guess I'm back to not being sure what you're talking about then.

Also, what about the nav. panel? It seems like a logical thing to use for this sort of avionics navigation and targeting type stuff, conveniently accessible from the cockpit while piloting a ship.

I mean, I'm not sure that I actually wouldn't prefer not having the system map at all if it meant I didn't have to stop and use the FSS as it is currently implemented. Maybe just have something like targeting from the nav. panel and scrollable info show up on the top right of the HUD when it became available. I'm not suggesting this as an ideal solution or compromise or whatever, just stating that I might prefer it over what we have now.

Either way, and In all honestly, I certainly would not have envisioned the current FSS and DSS type of exploration game-play being implemented into this game back in 2015 when I got the game. This, along with how things like multicrew and telepresence were implemented, make it seem like Frontier were forced into cutting their losses with what they could viably develop for the game.

To each their own though, of course.

Cheers.

I get more money from plain jump-honking while travelling between two places since the FSS was added than I ever did before. They upped the credits for honking a system massively when the FSS was introduced. Not to mention all the free money on top of that for sitting at the star and clicking on a bunch of dots, which used to involve the actual interesting part to do of going to planets and scanning them.

Tell me what's stopping you grinding the road to riches right now. Explored systems still show up in the system map.

And it's rather dishonest for you to present "The only rational motivation to return to an ADS", when that motivation is false, and people have been explaining their motivation in great detail multiple times why they would like to see an ADS type of functionality again.
My irony meter just exploded.
It's called projection irony :)

That's how every creative project works.

Am I lying?

Not a claim to be made lightly, so I am sure you can support that claim.

By the way, you forgot this bit: "Tell me what's stopping you grinding the road to riches right now. Explored systems still show up in the system map. "

Could you cite a reference for that? One that disagrees with what I wrote perhaps?
To go with the multitude of other citations to the same Dev post that has been posted an inordinate number of times when referenced to the continuing disgruntlement by a few to a game update?

You, like me, had plenty enough posts in the multiple topics that sprang up since Last December, if you are unable to reacall the particular Dev post explaining it (which appears to be the case) I am disinclined to remind you once again as it doesn't appear memorable enough to be retained in memory, despite putting to rest the non-return of the ADS.

I truly believe you dislike the ADS, that is fine - by the number of times it had been brought up there are a small number of players who are in agreement with you - but continuing to refer to the removal as 'oversight'....

You got me there, good thing I don't care.
