CRITICAL explorer bug

Yeah - saw that a few moments ago. That is a colossal muck-up.

Didn't FD say they couldn't re-tag system screw-ups after selling data the other day to someone who's first discovereds didn't come through during the exploration server upgrades at the weekend (or was it when 1.3 first came out)?

Hope they find a way to revert them. So Zions name isn't on Sag A* anymore?

Most of us here know who it was but that sucks. Maybe it has to do with when they changed the explorer data formatting?

Wow...that is a serious problem.

YIKES.

I don't fancy the headache the Devs will have attempting to sort it out. :(

SMEEEEEEGGGG every time I am ready to come back in some other critical bug arrives :(

I've been sat twiddling my thumbs at 600ly out waiting to come in.

That was me.
I 100% scanned a system, but lost first discovered attribution and bonus for planets 2,3,4 & 7.
Planet 7 was an Earth-like.

Lost bonus was 40009 CR. Now that was 1 system that I noticed (because it has an ELW). How many other systems have I been cheated or of discovery and bonus for? Unless they've got something notable that I've recorded, I wouldn't notice a few systems missing out of thousands.

I showed the "before and after" shots for SagA* on the other thread. I do wonder if they can revert the changes.

Clearly they have a problem with the database check for previous discovery getting overwritten.

My guess too. They said that the older data still takes longer time to sell, which kinda means that they haven't migrated the old data into the new format (and db instance and/or tables). So when the program pulls the first discovered tags from server db, it might currently only check the new one, or check both and mistakenly replace the old with the new when returning the data.

EDIT: you know what, not even going to say it. Too many people would do it and just havent thought of it yet.

With good luck they can just run a fix script between the old and new data. I doubt that anything is overwritten.

Unless of course they've been coding the database in a hurry and with lots of bubblegum.

(Hey FD, I'm available, I can deal with data and databases ;) )

Indeed an epic screw up.

On a slightly positive note: I'm pretty sure they have a database backup from before the upgrade. They should be able to use that backup to update the current first discovered data in the database.

That would require a level of foresight and integrity that FD has not yet demonstrated.

FD's incompetence once again on full display.

Supporters free to flame as expected...

When 1.3 dropped I thought the most sensible option would be to work on my exploration cred. Duh - foolish me. This is turning into nothing more than an Alpha demonstration concept faster than you can get to Hutton orbital.

Very sad.

This is terrible . Though we don't explore for the credits, we do like leaving our sigs out there to show our achievements .
I "had" over 4000 systems to my name and because we have never had the option to filter those in our Galactic map, we don't even have a way of checking out which ones are still credited to us :(

I'm several thousand LY's out. What to do? Continue on not knowing how any "fix" will affect the data I "think" I am collecting?

Or is it likely that it might be prudent to turn tail, head in, and do a data dump before who knows what happens next.

Pathetic
