Used to play gears of war 4 with pc players with no real issues...used to meet up every thursday night fer a couple hours of insane horde. Decent guys but dont use their mics and dont talk much, but play together as a team and an effective team at that, they do very well indeed.
I was a pc only player fer 2 deacades before I so much as looked seriously at a console, so fer lifers like me, our xbox history isnt even a third of the actual history. Makes fer a warped perspective sometimes.
Honestly, I think its inevitable...just a matter of time because thats the direction more and more players are leaning towards. Heres a scenario...imagine if say a few years down the line that xbox and pc players are playing together in technical harmony where its not even possible to tell the difference on many more games than the odd one here and there as it is now.
While everyone would love our ps bros could come and join the party, the man from del monte says no. They holding up progress and when ye been around a few years, ye learn a valuable lesson in the way this world works. Progress can only be delayed, it cant and wont be stopped. Sooner or later, what we talk about being cool today will be reality a few years down the line.
If someone had said to me when I was a young man that in my lifetime I would hold in my hand a small wafer thin device that could scan, take videos and pictures, hold videe conversations with people on the other side of the planet, from almost anywhere on the planet...Id have laughed at ye and joked about ye watching too many Star Trek movies...nowadays, any 3 year old can amuse themselves on an iPad half the day.
The world is changing and changing fast and many are trying to dig their heels in and resist in their own unique ways...this is how sony is doing it as they hold out fer their share of the market...cos lets face facts, that is why sony are holding out...money. Oh its likely a whole bucket of w2orms more complex than that, but from my perspective, I see them as holding everyone else back.
Maybe its time to move forward without sony and just leave them behind...that being their own choice in the end. What the players choose after that would depend on where the money follows ergo where the best and most popular games go. Platform loyalty? In this day and age when consoles close the gap between pc and themselves year in year out? All very noble...and blindly naive.
I think its simply a matter of time...technically we are about as there as its gonna get already on some games...next few years will tell a tale just hope I can last long enough to see it ^
