When you join
Black Widow, you are a
Prospect. A full member is bestowed the rank '
Corsair'. To become a
Corsair in
Black Widow is simple: you must demonstrate the willingness to
gank within your first 30 days with the squadron.
We met
Lord Freiza just one day before this encounter. With only a few days in the game, he was flying in one of our controlled systems and I shot him down. Minutes later, we'd begun a new friendship and he became a
Black Widow Prospect. The next day, after doing some PvE with other
Black Widow CMDRs, he bought and outfitted his first Anaconda. Arriving at Ray Gateway in Diaguandri, a Li Yong Rui Stronghold, to purchase the final module for his brand new ship, he called out on comms that there were other CMDRs present at the station, so rather than advising him to switch over to Solo play like a dirty Grom or Antal squadron would do, I came over to make sure nobody tried to inconvenience my new friend while he was putting his new toy together.
After sending an Aisling Duval pledged CMDR's unarmed Mandalay to the rebuy screen, I hopped to supercruise to clear the security forces' aggro and we saw this Fer-de-Lance attempting to escape... and
Lord Freiza earned the rank of
Corsair.
6 days into the game. Not a single engineer unlocked. No meta FDL or Python Mk2. Just a good sense of humor, and a passion for Internet Spaceships. That's all it takes.YOU can be like Lord Freiza. Don't listen to Reddit or FB or the forum dads who would tell you to stay in Solo, join Mobius, avoid undocking your ship until you have every engineer maxed out.
