I'd say we're more pawns of the Elite.
As a white middle class male I have no power, all I have is a vote. A vote which in the General Election & Brexit made no difference to the general consensus.
It's all good saying we are the "Elite", we have a privilidged life, but we are NOT the elite.
I have this argument monthly with my father, he says life is so much better here, and yes it is. My argument is that why are we tolerant of injustice here just because it's less severe than in Egypt, Palestine etc? We should deal with all inequality and injustice with equal passion, or how can we have the higher ground when talking to these "troubled" countries?
People here sound like they're saying "just be happy with what you've got", I say no to that. I appreciate that we have it good, but I'm not going to lie down and think that because I'm privilidged to be born as a white middle class male in the west I'm therefore part of the Elite and part of everything that's wrong with humanity at the moment.
Take South Korea, life is pretty good for many of them right now, they have health care & internet, but they have one of the most corrupt leaders with the lowest approval rating ever. Should they just lie down and take it because they have a privilidged lifestyle?
