well for a card that is around recommended requirmends thats far from acceptable tbh oh and a Hypercooled OC beast wont change that. You would probably need a PC from 3307 or smth to run thisJust hoping, that in lieu of winning the lottery and spending it on a large OC hyper cooled megabeast I can play the game at more than 20 fps (outside of space of course!) i5 OC to 6GHz16Gb Ram and a Strix 970 in case you are interested.
That'll do for starters!Make Odyssey Generally Acceptable?
Ok, so a pointless post just for the sake of it. Got it, thanks for confirming![]()
To change that, ie the features rather than textures, they would need to regenerate the galaxy. Those shapes are used to generate the topography.
And whats this nonsense about "Just sayin.." and then getting shirty when someone points out why? lol. Passive aggressive "sayin".
Elite is set what 1200 odd years in the future.
Look at what humanity was like during the period after Rome's collapse. That's the difference. After all both the British and Americans were using radio controlled battleships as target ships before WW2. So if we could control battleships via radio control before microprocessors existed I'm pretty sure in 1500 years time we can fully automate space ships.
A modern A380 can be flown by a single pilot. The only reason they have two pilots is because of rules and regulations. In the 1950's airliners had up to 7 depending on aircraft specifics. Likewise cargo ships. as few as 5 where before containserisation it could be in a hundred or so.
They said that fixing the tiling is a difficult problem, because it's not been fixed so far doesnt mean it wont be or isnt being looked at. You'll just have to be patient. Most of the posts on these forums are pointless / useless / memes / trolling. FWIW.
One of the most talked about things recently has been tiling on planets.
Fdev show "new colours with tiling still" so where has the effort been.. on pretty colours or fixing a huge topic of concern?
I get it, this is how it is now and its may not be changed for years, but colour me unimpressed.

If they sweep it under the rug i will sweep ED under the rug. There are alternatives.Seems more to me like this is something to try and mask the bigger picture so they can then let it be.
I know, I know... baby steps and it may get to where it should be, eventually
But like beigification... how long did that take. Yeah, things are 1000x better now and will be even more so with the new textures, for sure.
This whole Odyssey release is just one big bag of "we have lots of difficult problems and lots of minor bugs.. Release it anyway, end of year profits > quality products"
Also, what I don't get is, If you're going to be changing planets.. regardless of what process that may involve, only to have to change them again down the line, why not change them in one swoop, even if that is later. I mean they said they don't want to just re-roll them willy nilly, I get that, lots of work to regen things, but that planet I am landed on now, may look completely different again tomorrow (or soon™) anyway and again, if they ever do re-roll them.

Its nice idea, but i still see SRVs are a great threat to NPC on foot. It will be nice if SRV won't be able to lock on NPC or CMDR on foot. (Like ships does now)Rocket Troops at Military Installations
AI rocket troops will be added to military bases providing a greater challenge for Commanders approaching in SRVs.
Imperial Eagle - the pilot, one sat on his knee and one lying down in each of the wingtip podsLeaving the kick to the groin levels of annoyance at Powerplay- what ships are going to get four seats I wonder?
Remember the Fed Dropship and Gunship need some love, since the Alliance counterpart(s) have more seats- Keelback?
Just please- please do not cram them into fighters or anything out of place. My brain still throbs from having a space superiority fighter (Vulture) as a dropship....when we have a ship called a Dropship thats for dropping troops.
Isn't that what the "tiling" thing became though? A trolling meme? I'm impressed that "tiling" has affected you so much! Most of the posts on these forums are pointless / useless / memes / trolling. FWIW.

With a live game that's getting big updates stuff is bound to go wrong and break. That's not an excuse for putting stuff out in an unfit state, but if you accept that it will be in various states of flux then the whole ride is much smoother.

Sure, but this is Frontier, if they don't get things sorted in the first few months or perhaps even year, then things get put on a back burner and left to stagnate, whilst some new fandangled feature is introduced with its own series of issues just compounding things further. Just like all the other unfinished, lacklustre / non-fleshed out or still bugged features and functions that exist, that will seemingly never be touched upon again. But I digress. I'll put my horse blinders on on and enjoy what is good (and there's a lot that is).
I'm not here to say ED is doomed.. blah blah blah. I've been a player since ED came out (give or take some breaks) and I want it to be the best it can be.
Cool, happy to hear. But yes, it has affected my enjoyment of discovery.
Edit: some typos.
Thanks for the tips. Now that you mention it....the way I eventually got through the tutorial on-foot mission was to set up shop inside of a doorway and employ exactly the strategy you outlined. It felt more like I was defeating a weak area of AI programming, rather than an immersion in a battle. The NPCs were happy to walk back and forth as targets just outside the door, but afraid to come in ?!?! It hasn't struck me to apply this to actual missions because most online posted streams show commanders leaping all over the place and eliminating NPCs with apparent ease - seemingly out in the open. I can't begin to tell you how poorly that works for me lol. I spend so much more time waking up in prison and flying back to wherever than engaged in combat. That ratio is easily 10:1.This was a interesting post to read and i thought the feedback was great. This is one part i want to touch up on with you though.
Although i can understand the frustration i also think it's part of the learning curve, as you're coming into the 'fps scene' you're learning the mechanics and play style needed to pull off the missions.
This is something a lot of CMDRs are facing now, because elite on foot has become a different type of game.
Unfortunately i'm not sure the difficulty curve will change anytime soon, if at all, and i think players like me are the reason.
Coming from the FPS scene my whole life i can raid any settlement type currently and not have too much difficulty.
Every settlement has that sweet point, where you can funnel/bundle people, have cover and be close to ammo and recharges.
The only real difficulty comes from managing the ammo / shields near the end of the fights.
As long as you can cover yourself and peak fast, NPCs usually just melt.
So here seems to be the problem, experienced players can very easily be affective and feel like there is no challenge.
Where as experienced pilots have to adjust to a whole new gameplay mechanic, where a whole different play style is needed to do anything effectively.
What i (and others) can offer, is maybe some tips / tricks and things to do when you're raiding a settlement. I think (and hope) when you get some guidance you'll also be a lot more capable of doing solo settlement missions.
Wing missions are a step in the right direction, but i've not tried any yet so i have no idea how they might balance or help things.
Tomorrow during maintenance would be logical, so prolly somewhere on Fridayso when is it dropping?
