I've barely touched Viper III. Was never really combat centric so it was the Cobra for me. I just took the Viper out of a station basically and then put it away. I always loved the way the Viper sounded though. That burbley sort of rumble with the popping. It sounds like a ship made for combat. I have my favourite ships in the game, in the Sidewinder, Keelback, Cobra. Then I've got my ships that I like such as T9, Krait Mk II, Hauler, Eagle, now lately the Anaconda. The Viper IV though is right up there with my favourite ships. It makes a solid trader and it was around the time that I made one that I started having fun with ships and not always approaching them in meta or practical terms. I love the Viper IV because it's like the YT-2400 to the Cobra's YT-1300.
One of the things I didn't like the about Anaconda was that it sounded a little boring. It's supposed to be the best Faulcon DeLacy ship but it doesn't really sound like it. I get that it's supposed to be multipurpose and conventional but still, being "the big one", the sound of its engines were a little underwhelming coming off the Vipers and the Kraits.
It makes a lot of sense that it he designed the Scorpion because the Scorpion sounds really cool. Knowing he likes the Viper, it makes sense.
If the Boa makes it in, and it's not the big one, I hope it would be a slightly leaner meaner brother to the Anaconda instead of the Python, and that it sounds really cool. So again you'll have a Cobra III/Viper IV split. If it's the big one, well that's fine too, not gonna say no to a bigger hold.
