I'm curious, what's your future favorite?Don't really have a favourite yet- still waiting for them to do an actual Oceania pack & if I'm lucky it'd be included in that
It would depend on what they included & how good the animal looked tbh-
From NZ- it would be the Kakapo hands down as it's my favourite animal in general, but I doubt they will make it into a pack given I don't think there are any outside of NZ at all these days, so realistically of the options of what would likely be included, it would be a toss up between Kea & Kiwi- my guess is it would come down which one I felt looked & acted best as to which would be my favourite in game.
From PNG/NG it'd likely be a Tree Kangaroo (esp if Golden-mantled, Matschie's or Goodfellow's), they'd have do a really impressive job of it for me to like it more than a Kea or Kiwi tho I think, as both the bird options offer something different to the standard habit building we currently have- Kiwi would mean being able to get really creative with doing nocturnal houses, while Kea (even if they acted like peacocks & flamingos in game) would open the door to more realistic aviary building- esp if other birds liked crowned pigeons, herons, cranes or secretary birds become an option... but now I'm getting carried away with myself on a different topic lol
The dhole! Imo one of if not the most flexible animal in the game, true power chads of adaptability and more then welcome in each of my zoos, filling a different kind of niche every time, be it cool standalone animal, part of a larger selection of asian carnivores, thematic inbetween for the tropical and northern asia or even as part of a tropical house! love these red gooddest boys and nothing will change that, not even my beloved fallow deer
The gray seal, which is also my favorite animal in real life! I was sooooo happy when the Aquatic pack came out! 
I got a lot of favorites in planet zoo. Very hard to narrow it down to one but I will say the animal I’m probably most thankful for is the western lowland gorilla. I’ll never forget the announcement on world gorilla day. After always wishing frontier would have put them in zoo tycoon I was ecstatic to say the least
There never have been, and there aren't any in captivity in New Zealand either.
Tough... I would have to say the Prezwalski's wile horse or Eurasian Lynx....
The animals I like in Planet Zoo are the ones I like in real life as well. Which in my case is the (big) cats.
I am still impressed by the availability of the Snow Leopard and Clouded Leopard. I don't see them in zoos that often. I literally don't see them, because they're always hiding. They also don't show up that often in wildlife documentaries. So it's nice to be able to observe them in Planet Zoo. I remember them being available in the original Zoo Tycoon, but they didn't really resemble the real animals. Planet Zoo's designs are far more accurate. I also like the Lynx, Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Lion, Tigers and their black and white variants.
I am most happy with the arrival of my favorite animal though, the Leopard. I think Frontier made the right decision to choose the Amur Leopard as the subspecies, given how critically endangered it is. However, I would also still be interested in a subspecies that lives in a warmer climate. Of course I understand that the creation of another Leopard should not be a priority, given that appearance-wise any other subspecies would look very similar. But it would be nice to have a similar situation as with the Siberian and Bengal Tiger.
The addition of any other cat species in the future would also be welcome. Some really small members like the Black-Footed Cat or Rust-Spotted Cat would be a lot of fun. Larger members like the Fishing Cat, Marbled Cat, Margay and Ocelot would also be great additions. I still have a little bit of hope that Frontier may include a prehistoric cat one day, but perhaps this is better left for another game.

African Wild Dog! I love seeing them in real life, and I have paw prints from them (I like collecting unique zoo items). I almost always start franchise zoos with them... In the game they're much sweeter and cuter! I love our dogs slightly more than cats too.
Here are all normal-animals + Sloth in the game ranked from worst to best in my personal opinion of course.
VERY BAD ANIMALS:
120: Himalayan Brown Bear, for me the worst animal in the game, 100% the Grizzly model, a boring animal for me personally and people are asking for yet ANOTHER brown bear, one from Europe, MEH! Disgusting model as well, looks too fat and ugly. Sorry for being harsh, but this in-game animal deserves no better. Wasted Spot
119: Bonobo, not a fan of Chimps in general, and this was much like a smaller version, wasted spot for me.
118: Arctic Wolf, what is worse than an animal being a clone in the main-game? A clone in an expansion pack, so many better choices could have been made…
117: Aldabra Giant Tortoise, can’t spot many differences from the Galapagos one… Wasted spot, rather would have seen the Snapping Turtle…
116: Black Wildebeast, this should have been the Blue Wildebeast from the beginning.
115: Asian Water Monitor, clone animal for me, rather would have given the new rigs to the Nile Monitor and having a very different animal in the pack.
114: Nyala, looks too much like a miniature Bongo for me, and I want 100 other antelopes over this.
113: Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur, well it was a free gift, but you could have kept it.
BAD ANIMALS
112: Chimpanzee, not a bad model, I just dislike Chimpanzee’s in real life.
111: Grizzly Bear, not a bad animal, but a very bad model in the game, much too fat and fugly.
110: Lion, overused animals, and the male model looks like absolute garbage compared to most other animals.
109: Bengal Tiger, I would have been fine with just one tiger, the Siberian.
108: Dhole, I get its inclusion, but not a personal favorite of mine.
107: Red Ruffed Lemur, so many lemur’s I want, not this one though.
106: Red Fox, very lackluster animal, rather seen Bat-Eared or Grey Fox.
105: Red-Necked Wallaby, not a fan of wallaby, rather seen Pandolon’s or Tree Kangaroos.
104: Grey Seal, never really liked cute-species of seals, sorry!
103: Spotted Hyena, I love hyena’s but this model is just a big nono for me.
102: European Badger, meh animal to me, rather seen the wolverine in that pack.
101: Timber Wolf, I like many canine’s but wolves are a bit boring to me
100: Springbok, rather seen the Thompson’s gazelle being the main-game and this one being replaced by Generuk. Springbok were once my favorite animals on this planet, how far have they fallen for me…
099: Siamang, clone for me, but this one was first? Uhm, rather seen the Lar Gibbon in their place and a new monkey in the latest expansion!
098: Scimitar-Horned Oryx, with the Gemsbok I think this is overkill, rather seen the Addax in its place.
097: Japanese Macaque, not a fan of these tourist-attractions.
096: Reindeer, my least favorite deer species, I can’t unsee them as cattle.
NOT BAD, BUT BLAND, animals you see everywhere, so they are less exciting to me personally.
095: African Buffalo, I prefer the Water Buffalo and Bison over them.
094: Amur Leopard, I prefer the Clouded Leopard and Jaguar over them.
093: Prairie Dog, not really an exciting animal, cute sure, but exciting?
092: Formosan Black Bear, not really that bad, but rather would have seen the Spectacled Bear.
091: Raccoon, we don’t even have them in the Netherlands and still I think they are like rats lol.
090: Indian Elephant, I like the African better.
089: Asian Small-Clawed Otter, cute, but I prefer the much cooler Giant Otter.
088: American Alligator, I prefer the Saltwater and Gharial over them.
087: California Sea Lion, never cared for them, but there isn’t a really better option of seal in the game…
086: Cougar, one of my least favorite big cats, but they are beautiful in the game, giving them extra points.
085: Dall Sheep, rather would have seen Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goats, but this one grows on me.
084: Eurasian Lynx, I rarely use it because I find the Caracal much better but similar.
083: Dingo, a good animal, but rather boring to me.
082: Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman, beautiful model, but redundant to the Spectacled Caiman.
081: Warthog, model could have been better, but not a bad animal.
080: Thompson’s Gazelle, the game needs them, but they aren’t very exciting.
079: Lar Gibbon, cute, but I’m not so much into cute animals or monkey’s in general.
078: Red Deer, not an exciting deer species to me, but that MODEL is godlike.
077: King Penguin, I rarely use them because the African Penguin is so good.
076: Llama, rather seen the Alpaca, but still I kinda like them.
075: Red-Crowned Crane, beautiful birds, but I preferred a lot of other water-birds over them.
074: African Wild Dogs, I love their painting, but still find them a bit boring animals.
073: Baird’s Tapir, prefer the Malayan Tapir over them.
072: Blue Wildebeast, Gnu never really appealed to me, and I mostly like ugly animals, but they are too common I guess, TV is always throwing them at me like crazy.
071: Capuchin Monkey, another monkey, not bad, but never my favorites.
070: Giant Galapagos Tortoise, I’m more into Alligator Snapping Turtles, these slow giants aren’t bad though, just a bit boring for me.
069: Skunk, I like skunks, but couldn’t give them a higher place on this list.
Note: The next few animals all share the same spot a bit, they are common animals that I like in the game but which never become my favorites. I just place them in random order because they all share the same spot really. I like all their models in the game.

048: Sloth, I didn’t care which sloth, these slow animals always intrigued me because of their awesome ancestors the size of elephants.
047: Binturong, maybe could have placed higher, but there is a bug with this animal which makes it appear entirely black for me, costing precious points.
046: White Rhinoceros, I just like Rhinoceros of all types also the prehistoric ones, so ancient looking, awesome.
045: Indian Peafowl, peacocks always fascinated me since childhood.
044: Fallow Deer, love their English name, not really exciting (since I have them next door to me) but still a very beautiful in-game model.
043: Koala, the only cute animal I really like because it’s cuteness lol.
042: Beaver, I like these little workers.
041: Armadillo, I always preferred the similar Pangolin, but Armadillo are always great, preferred the giant one’s though.
040: Nile Monitor
039: Malayan Tapir, I don’t see the problem with this model, but if it gets better maybe a higher place even still.

036: Fennec
035: Orangutan
034: African Penguin
033: Moose, I love their size!
032: Nile Lechwe, never heard of these before, preferred the Water Buck, but this is actually a great animal!
031: Okapi, I think the size is off, in my zoo they are as big as a horse, in the game they are very small to me… could have been higher if bigger.
030: Spectacled Caiman, man the crocodiles in this game look BEAUTIFUL, I like them all!
029: Saltwater Crocodile, I for one am happy with them being picked over the more common Nile Crocs.
028: Przewalski’s Horse, hate the name, love the animal.
027: Mandrill, prefer them over baboons, but I still want Gelada.
026: Proboscis Monkey, my favorite monkey species
025: Jaguar, one of my favorite big-cats, they look beautiful

023: Pygmy Hippo, we have them in my neighbor zoo Blijdorp, love them so much, and all my friends didn’t even know they existed lol.

007: Sable Antelope, the least special animal on this top 10, but always loved their beauty, ferocity and ability to scare away or even kill boring lions!
006: Babirusa, the most special of all pigs, love their strange antlers/horns.
005: Gharial, never thought this animal was in the main game, my ultimate favorite crocodilian.
004: Fossa, my username, I love these bizarre giant predators of Madagascar!
003: Maned Wolf, seen them in real life and they are so special, I really love bizarre animals, and it can’t be more bizarre than these special of canine.
002: Giant Anteater, this is the idol of bizarre animals, love them to death!
001: Cassowary, the most dangerous bird in the world, and one of the most beautiful ones!
VERY BAD ANIMALS:

Big effort posts are allways great to see, might do one myself, eventhough hearing that the largest predator of most of europe lost points for being to cute gave me quite the chuckle

Never got a chance to reply to this thread back in the day, but I guess that's a good thing given my current favourite animal, the common wombat, wasn't in the game at that point! I still can't get over how well made they are, every bit as amusing and charming as they should be, right down to their little butt scratching animation on the rubbing pad (this is such a characteristic behaviour of wombats and I'm so happy it was included).
Close runner ups include the sun bear, dingo, European fallow deer and platypus, and I'm sure the Tasmanian devil is going to shoot right to the top whenever it is eventually added.
