I'm very tempted to decline the insurance and pick the sidewinder when I blow up to symbolically mark the Seven as lost in action...

Is "Hades Edge" actually HD 49368 ?
It looks exactly like it. If it IS anything like it, landing there is a challenge that players should consider carefully.
Depending on your piloting skills you'll likely need 3 heat sinks to land and 3 to take off and you'll still take damage. Even in a heat tolerant DBE.

I so want to go on this, but I would struggle to buy an Anaconda, let alone equip one for this right now.
You can do it with an ASP. No matter your choice, we can help you.

Yesterday night Felicia boosted my FSD 49.9%. Ship jumps 55 with a lot of amenities i can get rid off (well, a couple indeed).
Signed up!
Nice ! If you need more range, feel free to ask advice :)

Assuming you're level 5 with Farseer, you only need to concentrate on the FSD. Forget grinding for anything else, you don't need it for this trip.

I managed to get 40 rolls worth of materials for a L5 FSD upgrade in about 6 hours gameplay (in total). FD have made it much easier now thanks to multiple drops of specific items.

Prospecting :
Micromaterial:http://inara.cz/images/commods/grade0.png1x Arsenic

Ship salvage (transport ships), Surface POI :
Micromaterial:http://inara.cz/images/commods/grade1.png1x Chemical Manipulators

Scan high wakes outside a busy spacestation (the most tedious ones to grind for) :
Micromaterial:http://inara.cz/images/commods/grade2.png1x Datamined Wake Exceptions

Buy these from the market in Manditi :
Commodity:http://inara.cz/images/commods/grade-1.png1x Magnetic Emitter Coil

If all else fails, join as crew aboard someones ship? ;)

Thank you for your help on that one! But sadly im still on stage 3 and those flippin Frameshift Wakescanthingies are driving me nuts [knocked out] Last time i tried that, i scanned millions of Wakes outside of a CG Starport and didnt get one of the required things. So i just said TO HELL WITH IT! after a couple of hours and moved on to some other shenanigans.
Probably gonna try it again next weekend.... if the Civ6 addiction has worn off by then, that is. :p

Also how does Multicrew work tho? Can i just hop into someones ship and fly with them thousands of LY away? What if we run out of cheetos and i dont want to be on board anymore? Can i just fire myself out with an escapepod or am i stuck until my Taxi decides to explode?

Thanks!!!! I've read the 58LY configuration but I think I'm almost there only modding the FSD. In fact with a 49.9% roll i jump 54, but with unmodded 5D shields, 2x SRV, 5A PD to boost. If I downgrade shields to D3 and engineer them a lil, drop to 1 SRV and use 1A PD I'm already close to 58, so i'd say I'm ok for the moment.

Yeah, I wouldn't burn myself endlessly scanning high wakes. Do other stuff, bring a wake scanner along, once in a while scan few wakes. Eventually you will get enough Datamined stuff. I confirm that, with the Anaconda, you just need a good lvl5 FSD mod close to 50% and you are set. If you can make 100 rolls you can aim to the 50% + 5% with low mass increase, but it's not necessary.

Mats drop in groups of 3, aim for 12 rolls (4 drops for data, for drops for chem manipulators, arsenic is easy to mine, and the other commodity is sold at markets). With 12 rolls you should be almost sure to go past the 49%. Then strip the Conda and you are set. Luck is involved, but that method shouldn't be too frustrating.

A clarification on how to farm Chemical Manipulators from the Rock Rats document:

"The quickest way to get a lot of them in a relative short time is to search for “Seeking Weapons” persistent USSs in Anarchy systems that are at war or civil war. Those nasty weapon dealers who thrive on the suffering of good people like you and me can be destroyed quite easily, giving them enough time to eject. Their wreckage very often gives away one or two Chemical Manipulators."

There are also the following ways, that mark you as a bad person, but sometimes finding an anarchy system at WAR is not easy

System state: WAR = look for "Seeking Weapons"
System state: OUTBREAK = look for "Seeking Meds"
System state: FAMINE = look for "Seeking Food"

OFC choose an anarchy system to avoid bounties. In these locations there are 3 T9s, some winged with escorts so bring a shield cell bank along. After you have destroyed the 3 T9s, log out and back in and they'll respawn. rinse and repeat and you should get 15 chem manipulators/hour as average. Note that sometimes those T9 don't drop a single chem manipulator, you had simply bad luck, log out/in and repeat.

NOTE: bringing doom to transport ships that collect meds or food can ruin your Karma forever

This asp could do it on fumes with a +50% FSD range boost I think... there is stuff you could drop from the build as well.

This is a 49.5 roll. So don't even need 50% to make it. Now this is a light build - no SRV and no heat sinks. I think I can fit 1 SRV and still hit the 55 ly range.

It's not done yet, I'm still going to work for a >50% roll, preferably 55%+. Got plenty of time to work on it.

My Anaconda roll is a fairly standard 52.3% or so:

This is my loadout: https://coriolis.edcd.io/outfit/ana...d0t03---v42h2f.Iw18ZlA=.Aw18ZlA=?bn=The Raven

and with engineers I get 51.77ly Jump range. Is this enough? should i do modifications to my ship or could I get better jump range with the engineers?

For this particular expedition a jumprange of 54/55 is needed, maybe with fuel management.

If you downgrade your Power distributor to 5A you can still boost without mods.
You can downgrade your shields to 4D, still be safe and don't need any mods.
At this point, considering you can leave the AFMU, Cargo Hatch and Planetary Vehicle Hangar unpowered, a 3A PowerPlant without any mod is enough to run it all.
Then maybe for this expedition 2xSRV are not required, only one would do.

If you do the following changes, with the roll you have already made for the FSD, you should go near 54, and you can do a 55 jump with some fuel management. Note that all my suggestions don't require further engineering.

I changed your fit to this

As High Priestess of the Order of Enblackenment, a religion worshipping the Void that was born from our experiences on the Distant Worlds expedition when we were exploring beyond the reaches of Beagle's Point, the Void has called upon me to sign myself up. Oblivion holds no fear for members of the Order for it is a return to our natural state of Void stuff. I have faith that the Void shall return me to the nearest station afterwards. In the same way that when out preaching in our unarmed sidewinders it sends us back whenever we get blown up after interdicting combat ships.

It shall be a privilege to get as far away from the fiery daemons of fusion that interfere with the Void's infinite wisdom.

I shall of course be giving out copies of our pamphlet 'Why you too should help hasten the Heat Death of the Universe'.

And I, your devoted consort, shall follow you all the way. I will be with you in oblivion, my love.

I believe this will be my (Asp) build: The Long Arm of Icarus

BTW: One of the things I managed to ram through QA during the 2.2 beta was improvements to the landing gear performance on planets. It is now possible to land without shields, and not take damage. At any surface gravity.

Alrighty then!
I've signed up. This is going to be a spectacular one way ride!
All I need to do now is give Scorpio (my Conda) some lovely upgrades....

Thanks to Kaii, Erimus, and Kyle, for putting this expedition together :)
