I'm obviously far too much of a lone wolf / anti-social git because even in the midst of what is one of the most sustained collaborative gaming group ventures, I don't even recognise half the people being nominated

Allitnil!!! Where in heavens are you!!??

Listen, the chats (Discord, TS, Skype) are to DWE, what the Forums are for the Game: you get double the fun by checking them out!

Come on! Don't be a stranger and join the party! ;-)

Thx, but to be honest I hate online voice chat unless I already know the people involved well. I had my fill of that years ago when my hearing and ability to keep up with multiple conversations were both much better than they are now :(. Much prefer to have either music, radio comedies / dramas or TV box sets as my accompaniment these days.

Discord and Skype are primarily text-based.

Discord also has voice channels that get used, but are certainly optional.

grnbrg.

I thought the whole day about whom to nominate. I've met such a lot of outstanding people since the start of DW, that I can not and will not nominate one single person. I mostly hang around with the prospectors, so that are the guys I'm having the time of my life with at the moment. So my nomination goes to some of them:

Baroness Galaxy: When I heared about the Rock-Rats and tried to join them, the best way to find them at that time was the Teamspeak-Prospectors-Channel. Even if I am by no means good at speaking english and have a complete lack of practice I gave it a try. One of the first persons to say something after me joining the channel was Baroness: "Hello user who just joined the channel, you are very welcome" in one of the the most sympathetic french/dutch accents I ever heared. I guess that kept me trying to express myself in english and was pivotal that I dared to stay there. So thank you, Baroness, for me you are the "voice" of the Prospectors-Channel and an incredibly social person who keeps us together.

Anuranium even if afk at the moment, he was the one who inspired me with the energy he put into rock-ratting and his great videos in the beginning of the Mission!

Akira Masakari Lets not forget him, he put a lot of energy and time into the preparation and background-administration of prospection. He too is afk at the moment but he deserves praise.

Nexolek and Lord Fedora who go way beyond the call of duty with their background work on The Monster and its offsprings. You really show, how Elite Dangerous makes the best potentials of people come to fruition. I am amazed by your work!

Michael Darkmoor for his great work for the Rats and the Scientists, for the second-nicest "voice" on our Discord-prospectors voice-chat, and for really having a beard as Baroness once suggested "Your voice sounds like you have a beard":D

There are so many others I could nominate, Domaq, Star_Crusider, Nightstrider, Greytest, OlFart... well..

You can nominate people who are behind the scenes (apart from Erimus and I), but just so you know we do intend to reward them at the end anyway, once we figure out how
I'm going to assume that Corbin Moran is already counted among those who are working behind-the-scenes (and he's already nominated above), so I'll nominate Wishblend for helping out tons with the FGE's secondary fleet.

I vote for iDragox. He was a late a day late to registration but because of his great attitude and personality he was added to the group. Since then, his interesting conversation topics, acceptance of others, and dedication to the expedition have been very pleasant.

Not only has he crashed his ship 3 times and made it back from the bubble(6kly, 15kly, then 22kly) he has become a frequent contributor to the expedition. From WASP radio DJ and content creation, exploration data, and prospecting, I am sure many of us have either had great conversations with him or benefitted from his contributions. I consider him a model Explorer and team member.

A-freaking-men!

This is a hard one. There are so many great people here in DWE.
All my homies from TS (the Candy Crew), that has made this trip a lot more entertaining. (there are too many to name them but you guys know who they are, plus im very bad at remembering people's names! but that does not mean I have forgotten who you are :)

There are also a lot of great people in discord
Shabooka: He just makes these amazing videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEVW_sPVjFqHUCWRchOG4cg
Olivia: of course
Barefoot Bandit: Who does not know him and like him :)
I am missing a lot of people, and I feel that there are so many that would deserve it.

(@Frontier maybe a unit paint job for the pilots of the DWE?? ;-) (here is hoping!)

Aaaww shucks! Thanks! I'm all for a unit paintjob for DWE!

Z...

The Candy Channel, home of the Candy Crew, would probably fit the bill.
We are a group of civilised, mature, sober minded players whose sole goal is to max the push into The Black. We live on the DWE TS Server.
Edit: we have have wimmins!! *giggle*

This is a very difficult question: there are so many people making a significant contribution in different ways!
I've kept my list small, so apologies to all the amazing people who aren't on it.
In alphabetical order:
Akira Masakari (for organising the Prospectors and Cartographers Public Service, sorting everything that was reported and doing a great deal of actual prospecting as well)
Frawd Digger (taking a Sidewinder on a journey like this - that's real Endeavour)
Kancro Vantas (Discord master and also for helping to organise the resupply of the Zombie Wasp)
Nexolek (for 'Services to Prospecting')
Olivia Vespera (for taking a T9 - twice - and for Wasp Radio)
.
Good work everyone; fly and drive safe!

Hello all,

I'd like to be the one to break the good news that Frontier are so happy with us and they are doing lots and lots behind the scenes. You probably knew that. They contacted me personally to let me know about the new skins for Anacondas, something the DWE crowd and explorers in general have wanted for a long time, so they had us in mind when they made them. They've also given me 5 free packs (one of each of the new ones) to give away as a small thank you for our great efforts for the community, the game in general, and out of respect for us.

After discussing with Erimus, I've decided that the best way to hand them out, in the spirit of gratitude, is to nominate exceptional pilots of the main areas of the fleet.

4 we are giving to a Fuel Rat, a Rock Rat, Photo Team member and a Cartographer. We are going to ask the organisers of those divisions to nominate the person they think deserves them the most.

For the fourth, we'd like to ask you, the noble and brave pilots of the expedition, to nominate someone who you think has been outstanding. Please post below who you think deserves it and why. At the end we will cast a vote among the organisers and announce the winner.

I will keep this open for a week, so final submissions should be no later than 6pm next monday, when I will close the thread.

Congratulations guys! We are doing GREAT things, reaching millions of people with inspiration and awe, magazines and the entire Elite community.

Dr. Kaii and Erimus

p.s. Don't forget to thank Community Manager Ed Lewis. I can't even begin to list what he has done for us, and I doubt he even would approve me doing so, but just starting with the Newsletter PR, and ending with these gifts, he deserves a huge thank you.

All of the above!

Would be great if Frontier could make the Distant Worlds badge available for our ships, obviously just for those who participated in the journey and reached Beagles Point.

Thread closed, thanks for all your input, glad to see all the praise, you guys are the best.

We will deliberate now
