DIY Head Tracker For A Tenner

Reporting in to say I put my EDtracker together tonight, and it's working perfectly.

I mean, I've no idea how it's working. I made such a pig's ear of the soldering, most of it looks like the T1000 did after Arnie stuck a pipe bomb in its face... but it's working nonetheless!

Big thanks to all the guys involved in this.

Mine is working however I am still having an issue where my view doesn't follow back to centre and I have to press the reset button rather than look straight ahead

1) If you look in your game controllers and look in EDTracker's profile. If you move the unit through sweeps of left and right can you see an axis following suit correctly?
2) Have you run the Calibration program to see if it shows the yaw correctly?
3) Are you certain you've assigned EDTracker to the analog axis controls correctly? First time I did it I accidentally assigned it to the digital controls, and I've seen others who have done this too.

have you set headlook mode to accumulate or direct? direct is the correct setting.

How far has it drifted at this point? It only re-centres automatically if it's already fairly close, since it can't tell if you're just staring out of the side window (for example).

The view on mine drifts to the right over time and then gets stuck there, so I have to then reset via the button.

Anyone have possible causes/cures for this behavior?

I assume you've run the calibaration routine?

If you go into it and press (3) and leave it for several minutes does it reflect/demonstrate your problem? (ie: The head turns to its right) eg - http://s2.postimg.org/myfogxfeh/edtracker1.png

Mine was drifting to the right (in game) and when I did the above I could see the same happening (in the Calibration program). A couple of calibration attempts seems to help alot!

Spare for sale

I mentioned some pages back that I had ordered 2 pcb's form edtracker and two kits from hobby components as I thought I would make a pigs ear of at least one.

Well they both work

I only need one so the other has gone on ebay.co.uk.
Its calibrated and tested. Works fine.
3 day auction 99p start (£20 buy it now)

I've checked the rules and I don't think I'm breaking them by letting you know ?
If I am I'm sorry and just delete the post.
Just a one off. I don't plan to make / sell more.

Just made my EdTracker, not tried it in game yet, but it looks to be working ok despite my soldering skils:)

Does anybody know how to alter the order of game controllers in W7?

When I plug my Edtracker in, it drops in the game controllers list order after my x55 stick and throttle, but before my button box, so any game already set up that uses inputs from the button box does not see it as joystick no 3, as this is now the Edtracker - Id like to get the Edtracker to appear at the bottom of the listing so that it doesn't disburb the order of my existing controllers which are all set up for il2, il2bos and CLOD for example.

ok yeah that was the problem, I changed it to direct and well...

oh my god.

My mind has been blown, the EDtracker works flawlessly and is so so smooth and intuitive. Thanks to everyone who contributed towards me getting it set up right.

Brilliant piece of kit, a big thanks and congrats to dead fredd, pocketmoon, brumster and anyone else who had a hand in developing this fantastic piece of kit.

You guys have a product you could easily market and put trackir out of business.

You're not alone... A couple of others here (me included) did the same ;)

Bit of a dark image, but you can see it follows the general trend with the maplin project case. Mounts onto the top of my headset with velcro :)

Here it is mounted on my headphones with velcro.

No I haven't (yet). Where can I find a link to the calibration program?
