DLC 19 Speculation

I’m not gonna say what animals I think they could be, but I will admit I think a DLC with “Americas” animals seems likely. But I’m not 100% set on anything right now so we will see.

Why does it always have to be America? Black bear vs European brown bear, Bison vs Wisent, Timber wolf vs European wolf. There are so many species missing from other continents! Why does North America have to have the complete biome?

I mean when I say “Americas” I’m not exclusively talking about North America, or even temperate or taiga North America for that matter. Americas refers to both South America, Central America, and North America. It does include the cold forests of Canada, but also the deserts of Mexico, to the Amazon Rainforest, all the way to the most Southern border of Peru and Argentina.

Personally if we had to get any animals for North America it is not a competition with Europe first of all. Second of all, my whole continent doesn’t even have a bird. At least Europe has the Mute Swan and Greater Flamingo. So North America doesn’t have to be “complete” but it is still incomplete. I’m not saying Europe is better off, but North America could definitely use a revisit, even if it is a small roster of animals.

Mostly as @Marvinb said, I’m talking about the other Americas as well. Central America into South America is a hot bed of biodiversity that could use a revisit, and that is where I think the next DLC could focus.

If I’m being honest though, 2023 saw massive revisits to other continents, and since then the Americas have only got a couple animals, but no dedicated DLC to it. In 2023 we got Eurasia, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get something like the “Americas”.

That's what I think, too. It can't be a coincidence that the Americas (especially South America) have been neglected so much. I think a second South America DLC or a Americas DLC is very likely and probably was always planned. Now that you mention the Eurasia DLC a general Americas DLC would make a lot of sense.
In my opinion South (+ Central) America needs more species more urgently than North America. But there are still a few NA species that would be cool to have.

What do you think about this lineup?
The Americas Animal Pack
1. White-nosed coati
2. Canada goose
3. Golden lion tamarin
4. Geoffroy's spider monkey
5. Darwin's rhea
6. Patagonian mara
7. Southern pudu or American black bear
8. E: Green anole or WE: Seba's short tailed bat

Honourable mentions: American flamingo, ocelot, North American porcupine, agouti, tamandua, bush dog, wapiti, guanaco, Humboldt's penguin, white-faced whistling duck, wild turkey,...

Honestly it’s not a bad line up, the only thing I would personally miss is a tropical bird. I love my indoor rainforests haha. I mean the meta wishlist already has a number of high ranking “Americas” animals.

SuzieSky has around 20 animals from the Americas on their 2025 meta wishlist, all in the top 50.

RandomGoat has around 13 in the top 50, though animals from the ZooKeeper pack haven’t been removed.

So going by the more modern wishes of the community we can see their is an increased demand for the Americas, however Frontier usually follows the older more established meta wishlists.

Honestly much to the chagrin of some, I can also see an African pack. However even if we dispute it Frontier does follow the wishes of the community. Barnyard and petting zoos were long requested, and ZooKeeper did offer some long wanted animals. So now what has been asked for awhile? South America, Central America, birds, and monkeys. We will never get an animal specific pack, so I really do think some sort of Americas pack is next.

Honestly this is my theory for am “Americas Pack”:
  1. Black Bear
  2. Ocelot
  3. Wapiti (Elk)
  4. White nosed coati
  5. Howler of Squirrel Monkey
  6. American Flamingo
  7. Greater Rhea
Black bears complete the bear listing, ocelot is a popular cat, the Elk would be a fairly popular ruminant, the white nosed coati and monkey have been very long requested. The flamingo and Rhea are both two easy clone animals that would give the continents some birds.

Not my most ideal outcome but I think a very realistic one.

Your lineup indeed is probably more realistic and I'd definitely would like this pack very much!
But we need more than just one more New World monkey, so hope dies last haha.

We could easily fill two animal packs with entirely American animals and both packs would be very popular, I guess.

Oh yes the Americas pack. This is my jam. Idk if it is indeed likely but is one of my hopes.

My (ideal) lineup would be (from south to North)

1. Patagonian mara
2. Greater rhea
3. Southamerican coati
4. Second bird: Scarlet ibis / Roseatte spoonbill my top pick or NA bird: wild turkey, american white or brown pelican, wood/white face whislitng duck
5. Mexican spider monkey / Howler monkey
6. Sea otter
7. Musk ox

But if i expect a realistic line up i would replace the last three for: squirrel monkey, american black bear and elk (although musk ox and sea otter are not unrealistic at all).

Two (or arguably all) of these would be resolve if we just got the whole species and not arbitrarily specific subspecies
The thing is that each wolf subspecies looks distinct from one another, for example our current wolf looks more like a American subspecies, so people who want Eurasian wolves are unhappy, so the only way to resolve it is by their doing what they did in zoo Tycoon 3, or getting multiple subspecies, and even get me started on the differences between American Black Bear and Eurasian Brown Bear

I'm gonna honest here, it's all grey wolves to me. Hard to make a grey wolf not look like a grey wolf. Wanting a model based on a certain subspecies may as well be asking for wanting a model off a specific individual wolf. These look pretty much the same to me, and I will reserve doubts that one grey wolf can substitute the other doubts because it's slightly orange, has a slightly longer muzzle, or whatever rationale may exist. Grey wolves are grey wolves.

Some really do look different from each other like dingo, mexican wolf and indian wolf, but honestly eurasian and NA grey wolves look the same with a slightly different color shade and size variation which you can already get ingame.

Problem with base game wolf is that most people think it looks bad so want a new updated grey wolf. But we don't really need more.

I wish they would do to the old models what they did for the Malayan tapir. Imagine the grizzly, wolf, and lion all looking like current animals? Would easily be a top 10 free update.

I do agree, I think the NA and European wolf look pretty similar, but I see so many people complain about it that I had to mention

What would they name if we would have gotten an Easter Themed Pac with small animals like Twilight with Groundhogs, Porcupines, Rabbits, and Otters.
If it was those four species plus an exhibit animal? I'd go with my long-wanted "Parks & Gardens" pack. Those four habitat species and a new exhibit animal (probably a salamander or toad of some sorts; maybe a fish species if they're feeling spicy) plus 150+ pieces of garden-ready shrubs, trees, and flowers; slate path and puddle/ground water decals; new planters, gardening tools, and clutter; garden decor (e.g., smaller mushrooms, garden gnomes, a small Bernie Goodwin statue, smaller various wildlife statues and quirky garden decorations); flexicolor leaf clutter, grass, and mulch patches and piles; and a new clapboard wall set (excuse: gardening shed blueprint!)

Free update would provide a null option for exhibit walls; 2 new educational items (relatively 'null' with some additional scenery items to decorate them with); new countryside rock wall barrier with rubble scenery items; 3 new butterfly species; the Viva Vegan food shop; ability to customize item names in restaurant and shop menus; updated flexicolor options for Barnyard pack fencing and all original wall/roof sets; and null text signs. Low-hanging fruit that would make the update feel loaded (and provides a number of things that have been highly-requested for a while -- most of which map to the theme of the pack).

I hope we get the horizontal wood building set that PC2 is advertising in their western theme set.
Gimme all the clapboard!

I'm not sure that it feels likely. I don't think we'll be getting a region pack... But if we do? Yeah, something linked to South America (or the Americas more broadly) feels reasonable and most likely for all the regions.
