DLC 19 Speculation

I know I’m late to the discussion but I really wouldn’t enjoy getting the roadrunner, I know a lot of people would but it just doesn’t interest me at all. Yes it’s a bird yes it looks different than other birds, maybe it’s just a preference thing. I don’t really enjoy building NA sections and I just don’t have any good ideas for building for this one.

Most would stick them in a canyon setup. I would put then in a forest

I will say I for one do enjoy building NA sections, it’s just that I am limited to specific sections of NA. So far I think I would build two types of habitats for the roadrunner:
  1. Use the mesh pieces and make something more akin to an aviary, Stone Zoo has their roadrunners in a mesh wire habitat. Likewise I can definitely use a glass wall and have mesh for the roof.
  2. Make an indoor bird house, one of my biggest issues is not a lot of birds available in PZ are good “indoor birds” if that makes sense? Sure every animal in PZ can be housed inside, but what matters to me is if it looks good or not. Luckily the roadrunner I have seen housed indoors, and as I mentioned it was actually in an open concept habitat with tortoises and other birds!
So I would be happy to get a roadrunner, it’s just not gonna happen so I’m not planning for it.

Honestly I was a bit lukewarm on the roadrunner, but something about this picture is helping sell it.

Of course, I don't see us getting a third bird here, so it's a moot point.

How could you be so negative for a beautiful animal like this?

My main problem, simply put, is that we already have it - or rather, we have two very similar alternatives.
A wild South American camelid would be really cool, but since we already have both of the domestic alternatives then it would feel very redundant.
If we didn't get the alpaca in Barnyard, then it would make for an amazing addition... But sadly we already have llama AND alpaca

Although Guanaco and Vicuna are redundant in many ways, I still feel like they would add to the game in the sense that their coloring is unique compared to Llama and Alpaca. Also, they're more typical exotic zoo animals whereas Llama and Alpaca are just farm animals that could also be present in zoos. I understand both sides of the argument about Guanaco and Vicuna. IF there is an animal I wouldn't be mad or excited about but am almost 100% neutral about its one of the South American wild camelids...

It really depends on what the last 2 animals are. A coati and a mara or tegu would really help the region, and I feel like the only things left would really be a 2nd monkey, a mara/tegu (depending on what we get), a spoonbill, and a scarlet ibis. Tamandua would be cool but wouldn't fill that arboreal animal gap that a lot of us feel (although it'll match the scenery), and an Ocelot is something I feel most could do without. Bot saying it wouldn't be a hit, though
Not in a slightest bit for me. No.

I really didn't think it was desert-themed until about 2 hours ago, citing the flamingo, rhea and saki as the reasons. But here's the thing:

1. Lesser rheas live in deserts

2. Andean and Chilean flamingos live on the salt flats of the Atacama desert

3. We could very easily be wrong about what this is. Very easily. Anyone pretending to be convinced about what this is is really kidding themselves.

4. Cactuses, desert rocks and hot, dry colours in the key art

I still think its Americas and I'm still leaning more towards the Latin America pack title, but I have done a full u-turn away from thinking that it is 'no way' a desert pack.

That really throws things up in the air. I don't think a coati would be in an American Deserts pack - even if their range might extend there, they are not typically a desert species.

I can see the saki being a vulture, and that to me feels like a waste of space (sorry vulture lovers! not my cup of tea, so many other birds I'd prefer to see). On the plus side if they are going bird-crazy with this pack maybe we'd get the WE Hummingbirds that I have been drooling over, lols. Highly unlikely but I can dream.

I'm going to make myself even more unpopular now and say that if it is American deserts, the one thing that could save it for me would be...

The vulture thing still makes no sense to me. What vulture has a tail? Also none of the vultures in North or South America have this shape and for the ones that kinda do like the black headed vulture, the white outline on the face doesn't fit. Not to mention vultures are free flying birds, why would Frontier put only 1 of those in a random theme pack???

The most possible possibility is an Americas/New World themed DLC. I think, that the landscape shows that the Scenario will be in Mexico.

Its a sketchy, out of focus, stylesed papel picado. There is no way we can be 100% confident about what it might be depicting.

Because swans?

Look, my bet is still on sakis but vultures are not out of the question and everything else kinda points towards deserts. I HOPE I'm wrong.

Because swans?
Swans are different they are believable in the game because they spend most their time in the water and a lot of zoos have them in open enclosures and just clip their wings (I’m assuming).

While on the other hand vultures are almost always kept in aviaries. While they can have their wings clipped and be in an outdoor enclosure it’s not as believable as the swan because of how most zoos keep them.
